I´m leaving my husband......

....it´s sad but true. I am leaving him, but only for a long weekend!!

Tomorrow (Thursday) my friend Laura and I will fly to London for the Hillsongs Woman´s Conference in Wembley Arena. We are soooo excited about it and I´m really looking forward to a girly weekend away in London. I don´t think we will get to see much of the sights but we don´t mind. We are going over to be filled up spiritually and to have fellowship with thousand of other Christian women.

Kristian´s sister Hanne and her daughter are going too, so we will meet up with them over there. I think it´s going to be a great weekend!! We have booked into what looks like a cosy wee hotel - I don´t think Laura and I are going to get a lot of sleep over the next few days!!

So the bags are all packed and everything is ready to go. Meanwhile here at home Leah will be at a friend´s Confirmation on Friday. Everyone is off work and school here. Andrew is going to visit Camilla and so that means Kristian has got a day to himself, something I think he is looking forward to! Laura and I will be back Sunday evening, so he may enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts!

Silver envelope 13

Silver envelope 13 was given to me this week. Yes GIVEN TO ME!!! Kristian surprised me with an envelope. Well it wasn´t a literal envelope but on Monday evening he told me he had something special planned for Friday evening and he was thinking that it could be one of our silver envelopes - envelope 13 from him to me.  That was fine by me!!

I was all excited! He wouldn´t tell me a thing about what was happening, just that I had to be ready for 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.

So while waiting on Friday to come around I continued with my healthy eating and excercise program. One evening I decided to give training in the garage a break and I went for a run instead - haha what a laugh that was! I really saw how unfit I was! So I ran a bit and walked a bit. I was running in the forest and it was such a beautiful evening, so I stopped every so often and took a few photos (I was sure glad of those short breaks!)

So far I am doing really well with my eating and exercising. I have lost 3,3kg (I think that´s about ½ a stone?) since starting. Let´s hope it continues!!

So back to our silver envelope! Friday night finally arrived and I was all excited about what Kristian had planned for the evening. I kept getting text messages at work reminding me to be ready for 4.30pm and telling me how much he was looking forward to our night out. It was sooo sweet.

I was ready for 4.30pm. Kristian arrived home on time too and soon we were on the road. I thought we might be heading to Copenhagen but instead Kristian headed the car up North. The whole way I was trying to guess what we were going to do. I wasn´t successful but Kristian did keep saying that it was nothing too big and he hoped I wouldn´t be disappointed.

We arrived at one of the towns right up north and after parking the car and a short walk I found myself in a lovely Italian restaurant with real Italian waiters that only spoke Italian to us. Here Kristian told me that we were meeting some of our really good friends - Henrik and Birthe. I was sooo happy about that. We always have a great time with them. Before long they arrived and we ate the most delicious meal together with lots of chatter and laughter.

No one would tell me what the rest of the plan was for the evening but then Birthe let it slip while eating dinner. She said "Oh I love when we go out for dinner together before a concert!" (we have been to a few concerts together and we always go out to eat first!) The men just shook their heads and rolled their eyes, then she realised what she had said. the cat was out of the bag.  After dinner we were going for a concert!!

So after dinner we walked the short distance to the concert hall. We were going to see a famous band here in Denmark called  "Danser med drenge" (Dancing with Boys). I love their music, many of their songs have good words and deep meaning. It was a fantastic concert and we had a great evening all together.

I was certainly not disappointed in this silver envelope! Mr Rasmussen you can arrange a few more of these - you´re really rather good at it!!

Up at the crack of dawn.....

Saturday morning and I was up at the crack of dawn. In fact Kristian and Andrew were up along with me. At 5.30am our alarm clocks rang one after the other. Kristian was getting up to head to the go-kart track, he had to be there by 7am. Andrew was heading to work. He works as a postman every Saturday, so he had to be there by 6.15am. I was up because I too had to be at work. We had a work day at school so the parents could come and help do some work on the playground. I was going in to make coffee, serve snacks and prepare and clear up lunch for them all. I was at work at 6.30am to get things organised.

It was a beautiful day and being up early meant that I got to enjoy a beautiful sunrise while driving to work.

In between serving the parents with refreshments I decided to clean the library. I went a bit mad and climbed up and down ladders to give the lamps a good clean. They really needed it and it felt sooo good to get them done!!

When I got home from work on Saturday afternoon, I headed straight over to Laura´s house. Her new sofa had arrived, and I couldn´t wait to see it. It came a little earlier than expected as it was due to arrive in the middle of May. We had planned to paint and do a few things around the place before it arrived but now we will just have to do all our plans with the sofa in the room. It looks sooo good! It´s going to look even better when we paint and re-arrange some of the furniture! She was a very happy person!

Saturday evening found Andrew and Leah on dates with their other halves. I was feeling left out, I had no date!! Kristian was going to play his sax at a Silver Wedding Anniversary party so I was home alone. I love having these alone times too, so I enjoyed those few hours of peace and quiet before I decided to head over to Laura again and sit on her sofa. We ended up watching a film and I got to bed way to late!

Sunday was my day of rest. I did nothing. I read, listened to some Bible teaching and just enjoyed being home after a busy week and a busy Saturday. Now another week has started and I am ready to face it with renewed strength!

Just believe.....

This evening I was reading Psalm 23 and it just blessed my heart. It´s a Psalm I know well, but reading it this evening from the New Living Translation it just blessed me anew.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I have all I need. He lets me rest in green meadows, He leads me beside peaceful streams, He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley I will not be afraid for you are close beside me. Your rod and staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life and I will live in the house of the Lord forever!!

Just wonderful words! It made me think that if us Christians (ME!!) really believed what we read in our Bibles we would worry a whole lot less and be filled with praise a whole lot more.
(speaking to myself here!!) God is sooo fantastic and He has given us soooo many wonderful promises through out the Bible that we just need to take hold of and believe!!

Thank you God that you are my shepherd - you are all that I need! You look after me, you give me what I need, not only spiritually but physically, so I don´t need to worry about anything!!  Thank you that in times past when I have felt weary in my soul you have renewed my strength, when the storms of life have raged about me, you have given me your peace and joy at a time when there was nothing to be peaceful or joyful about. That is an amazing thing to experience!!  Thanks for guiding me throughout my life with each decision I have had to make - guide me still and help me to obey what it is you show me to do. Thank you for your rod and staff....for your comfort in hard times, for your protection and love. I really don´t have to fear anything cause I am never alone! (Remind me of this when I go through those hard time, remind me when I forget!) This is soooo fantastic!  You, the God of the universe, the God who speaks and things are formed is with me!! WOW I am amazed. What a great God you are. I love you. Amen xo

God´s masterpiece....

I went a walk this evening and got to experience the most amazing sky. There was a wind blowing so the clouds were continually changing and with the sun setting the light was changing too. I felt so blessed walking along the lane witnessing it all. It was like watching God paint a masterpiece!!

The pictures dont do it justice....

I think I´ve found the secret......

.....the secret to exercising!! It´s making an 80´s playlist on Spotify and using the music to get you going. I did this on Monday. I made the play list and then went into the garage to work out.

I have been collecting old fitness machines from different places, (all free of charge) so I could make a GYM out in the garage. We have a bike, row machine, step machine, different weights and a hula hoop.  We have had all this stuff for about two years and I have never used any of it!! Kristian has threatened to get rid of it many times but I have always convinced him that one day I would get the fitness bug!

That day came on Monday!!! I worked out for 35 minutes on all the stuff and did a bit of dancing and aerobics in between! It was wonderful!!

The 80´s music got me going, it was to blame. I was tired when I got home from work, I was not in the mood to exercise but once I put the music on something magical happened. It made me feel young again!! When Nik Kershaw was singing "I won´t let the sun go down on me" I was suddenly 16 again dancing at my cousin´s birthday party. When Wham sang "Wake me up before you go go" I was 15 again doing an aerobics workout at the GB display. The memories came flooding back and the energy came along with it!!!

So today as soon as I came home from work I went out to the garage and spent another 35 minutes working out. It was fantastic! I felt full of energy - long may it continue!!

And the reason for the work out is to try and get some weight off. I did lose 2kg but I have been so bad over Easter that those 2 kgs are back on again. So it´s a new start (again!! again!! again!!) Let´s see how it goes this time! haha

We had a lovely weekend.

On Friday when I got home from work I got a text message from my hubby. The message said I had to be ready for 6.30pm when he would pick me up and take me on a date. Now a girl doesn´t say no to that kinda offer!! :-)

So true to his word Kristian turned up at 6.30pm. We drove to one of the nearby lakes and went a walk. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed walking in the beautiful nature.

Kristian dreaming of having a boat! Dream on!!!

After our walk Kristian said we were going out to eat dinner. He had booked a table at the restaurant by the lake.

We had never been to this restaurant before and it did not disappoint. The place was sooo cosy and there was a fantastic view from our table out over the lake. The food was also delicious and because Kristian had booked through a special app that we have on our phone, we got 25% of the bill so the price was good too!

We spent a good part of the evening there chatting and enjoying the surroundings. It was a really lovely evening.

On Saturday Kristian was of to the go-kart track. He wasn´t racing himself but was helping some of the young boys that have started to race. He would be gone all day Saturday. I had been invited down to lunch at his mums along with  Krisitan´s brother Peter, wife and kids and his sister Hanne and her husband Flemming. The weather was fantastic here on Saturday and so after we ate a delicious lunch we sat outside on the balcony and caught up with each others lives. It was a lovely afternoon.

Saturday evening Camilla came to dinner. Andrew, Camilla and I settled down to watch the film "An other woman". Soooo funny. Leah wasn´t home, she was out with Lasse on a date.

It was a lovely weekend - just what was needed before the start of another busy week.

Wednesday 8 April 2015

It´s all back to normal......

After a great Easter holiday, life is all back to normal again. We started back to work and college on Tuesday and it already feels like the holidays ended weeks ago! Roll on the next few days off!

On Sunday evening on the way to bed, Kristian said to me, "I think I will get up at 6am tomorrow and go for a walk with my camera, see if I can get some good shots." The weather forecast looked good for Monday. I told him he was crazy, but to have fun,  I wasn´t going to join him!!! I wanted a long lie in, after all it was the last day of our holiday!!

When I saw the photos that he took I really wished I had gone with him and experienced the sunrise LIVE!!!

We are sooo blessed to live in this beautiful area with forest on one side and lakes on the other. All within a short walking distance.

The rest of Monday was spent cleaning up around the place. Kristian worked outside in the garden and I worked inside getting the house cleaned for a new week. It didn´t take us long to get things organised. Kristian then went for a bike ride and I went out into my painting room and messed about with some paints. Didn´t make a great masterpiece but just tried different methods and technics.

I also found some old files that were filled with water paintings and drawings that I had done a good few years ago! I had totally forgotten about them.

Tuesday after work we had invited some friends over for cake and coffee. (We are doing rather well at keeping our new years resolution about inviting more people over for dinner or cake and coffee.)

Last night it was an older couple that used to lead the church that we went to when our children were small. We went to this church for many years.

(A few years back the church decided to merge with another two churches. This was the church that I wrote about a few days ago when I discovered the building had just been demolished.) This wee church will always have a special place in my heart.  It was my second home, a place I felt that I belonged, an oasis for my soul.

Well, we haven´t seen these old friends for a while and it was sooo wonderful to have an evening together with them. It was just so special to see them. They left late in the evening, yet it seemed like they had only stayed half an hour, the evening had just gone by far too quickly.

What a blessing it is to have friends!

Happy Easter.....

Easter Sunday and we decided to head into Copenhagen to Hillsongs church . Sara and Christian had never been and wanted to go there.

We met up at church with Sara´s good friend Winnie who was also in Copenhagen this weekend, along with Christian´s brother Martin, who happens to be Winnie´s boyfriend.

The service was really good and spoke to my heart. I loved one of the songs that we sang. I posted it below. I love the words in this song, especially the line "my guilt and shame don´t count anymore, Calvary covers it all." Just so wonderful those Word! God sees me through Jesus, clean, just as if I had never sinned. That is sooo amazing! I feel so blessed - think that I can call the God of heaven Father - Daddy! He loves me, He cares about my life. He wants to do life together with me!

Have a listen, I hope it blesses you too....

After church we headed back home to us for lunch. We had a lovely time with them all. We ate lunch and then went a walk in the meadows behind our house.

Sara got to feed the sheep that wander about there.

Then it was time for them all to pack up everything and head back to their home in Ã…rhus. It has been a lovely Easter with them all. Now the house is all back to normal. Just us four here. We have one more day off work - tomorrow, Monday. Then it´s back to porridge for us all!
