Summer time

It´s now offically summer time, so Leah and I thought it was about time we tried to learn a bit of French.

This evening we got out the "Learn French" disc and got it installed on the computer. (Now this was no easy task -believe me!! The disc I have is about 12 years old so it wouldnt play on the newer computers in the house. Leah has an old computer that Kristian put together for her from old pieces of everybody elses broken computers. Thankfully the disc worked on that, but her poor computer couldnt keep up, so after about 20 minutes it went blank! Bit like the rest of us when we get up in years - it needed a wee rest.)

We did get to learn some words before the computer went blank and now we are having fun walking around the house asking each other "Where is the train station?" "Where is the bank?" Once the computer rests for a while it should be up and running again by tomorrow.

Kristian took a bit of a video just as we were getting started. We didnt even realise he was filming - we were so involved in our new language!! (and working out how the programme worked!) haha

We sure did have fun!

Tea for two...

This was a Friday night with a difference. Usually all the kids are home, we get cosy with our sweets, crisps and cola and we watch X-factor. Well this Friday was different. Leah was going to stay with her friend Mia, Sara was going to her friend Magnus and Andrew was going over to Thomas. Suddenly it was just Kristian and me that would be home for dinner and Xfactor.

We had to drive Leah and Sara to their different friends, so we decided we would get a bit dressed up, and after leaving them off, head out on a date night together. We dropped the girls off and then decided to try a local restaurant in our town and just give X-factor a miss.

However as we drove to our town we both were unsure about what we really wanted to do. We just couldnt decide if we really wanted to miss X-factor. In the end we decided, we would try one of the local pizzerias that we hadnt tried and just head home for X-factor, it was afterall the final. (We are such loyal fans!)

And so thats what we did. We got two different pizzas so we could share. They were delicious. We sat in front off the TV and ate them while watching Friends. It was sooo cosy. Then X-factor started. It was such a good show and to top it the guest group to sing was Take That. I loved Take That when they were out all those years ago. So I must admit, I went a bit crazy!!

Our favourite singer won! We had voted for her right from the start. Kristian actually knows her. She sang in a gospel choir that he went to Italy with about 7 years ago.(Kristian was the guest sax player) She belonged to the local Pentecostal church at that time.

If you want to have a listen, check her out below. I love her singing this song! Here´s Linda......

They´re back!!

.....and you wouldnt half know it!! The house, that had been tidy all week, looked like a bomb had hit it within a few hours of them coming home. Having said that, it is just GREAT to have them home again. (They arrived home at 4am Thursday morning!)

They had a brilliant trip to Belgium. Have a look at some of their photos.....

Here they are all set to go. This was taken Saturday morning, before them lay 850km.

But the girls were happy. They enjoy being together, they always have lots of fun!

They ate some good food during the week.

And ran into a snow storm!!

Monday there was rain, Tuesday there was snow! The weather wasnt on their side. But that didnt stop the Vikings!! They were out training whether there was rain, shine or snow!!

Below is Sara in her new sponsored cart.
Winnie gets some brotherly advice from Ronnie!

What can I say? - the trip was a big success. I think this is going to turn into a Rasmussen tradition!!

Winter is back....

....I awoke this morning to a few flakes of snow flying around outside!! I couldnt believe my eyes. Yesterday was soooo nice, it actually felt like spring and today was the total opposite, so cold and wintery.

After work I came home and collected Leah. We then headed over to my friend Jettes house. She had sms´ed me yesterday asking if I wanted to come by as her hubby was in Finland with his work and she knew Kristian was also gone. Her wee son Jonathan was sick with a throat infection, so she couldnt go anywhere with him.

So Leah and I headed over there. We ordered some chinese and spent a lovely few hours with them. It was just what Jette and I both needed - a good girlie natter and a bit of a laugh. Even though Jonathan was sick, he was still as cute as ever, a real wee charmer.

Did you know....

Did you know that you could eat Tulip petals?? I didn´t!

Last week at work, one of the teachers bought me some tulips as a thank you for doing her a wee favour. I love tulips (hint, hint Kristian!! haha) and enjoyed having them on my table all week.

Then today at work my colleagues told me you could eat the petals. I had never heard of this, (but then again I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer!) so I thought they were having me on. Anyway, I decided to be brave and give it a try. My colleagues kept telling me that they tasted really good and you know what? They did. They were actually really delicious. So on Friday night, when we are watching X-factor, theres no more sweets for me, I will just order a bunch of tulips to sit and nibble on! haha - now wouldnt that be a sight!!

Its been a busy but good Monday. After work I went, along with my colleague, to visit her mum and dad. They had heard about me (dont ask me what they had heard) but they wanted to meet me, so they invited me for cake and tea. We had a lovely afternoon with them. Ate far too much cake - but it was delicious - loads of cream and marcipan....YUMMIE!!

After that I went shopping for my old lady friend. Popped by to see how she was, put the shopping away and washed up a few dishes...finally arrived home at 6pm. Leah arrived home 15 minutes later and 15 minutes after that we were all sitting together eating dinner. All that is, except Kristian and Sara. We miss them. I miss them!! I cant wait to see them again on Thursday!!

When the cats away....

Today started with Leah and me going food shopping. Then it was home to clean up and clear out. Leah was such a great help! She cleared out all my kitchen cupboards and got them all organised. Lets see how long I can keep them organised!

Then this evening Anne was coming by for dinner. I decided to pull out all the stops and make a 3 course meal. For starters we had Lentil and Carrot soup with crusty bread. Then I served pasta with chicken done in a tomatoe sauce with basil and lots of cheese. Along with that we ate salad. For dessert we had pancakes and ice cream served with chocolate sauce! Yummie - it was really good. I surprised myself - nothing went wrong!!

When Anne arrived I thought she was moving in! She had her suit case with her. However it wasnt full of clothes, instead she had packed lots of fun things to amuse us on a Saturday evening. Things like a Wii machine and Play Station.....

Well you know the saying - when the cats away the mice will play. Well us "mice" really did to get play tonight. Well have a look for yourselves....

After all the dressing up was over we got the Wii machine out. Unfortunately Anne had forgotten the adapter to plug it in...so the Wii was packed down into the case again and the Play Station taken out for some karaoke.

We discovered tonight how talented we are - so we are seriously considering entering the next X-factor. But dont take my word for it, judge for yourself.....

Whew all that singing made us hungry again, so it was time for pancakes and ice cream.

In the middle of all the chaos and noise Shadow slept peacefully on top of the cupboard in the kitchen.
Thanks Anne for a fun night. I sure excerised my laughing muscles.

I got an sms from Kristian this evening. They finally arrived in Belgium after a long journey. Driving with a trailer means you cant drive fast, so it was really looooong for them.
They were hungry and tired but otherwise doing great.

And they´re off....

Yes - Kristian and Sara are on their way....and happy they are!!

We drove down to Kristians mum and dads were they were to meet Ronnie.

The trailer was hooked up to Ronnies car...

Goodbyes were said to Grandad Rasmussen (Granny Rasmussen was not home) and then the happy trio set off.

Meanwhile the rest of us did what we normally do on a Friday - watched X-factor, ate far too many sweets and crisps, drank too much coke and just had a really cosy time! (I really am starting to live healthier tomorrow!!)

Almost ready...

...the cart is packed, the tools sorted, clothes half packed, (the other halft are hanging around the livingroom getting dried. )Tomorrow after work Kristian and Sara start the first part of their journey to Belgium. I will drive them down to Kristians mums house. There they will meet Winnies brother - Ronnie. The trailier and go-kart will be hooked up to his car and then away they go, they are so excited.

Tonight things are a little different here at home. There is a buzz about the house as Sara and Kristian run around trying to remember all the important things to take. I am just leaving them to it.

For me its been another busy day. After work I went shopping again for the old lady I know and then spent some time visiting her. She is feeling better today so lets hope that continues. (Sorry Rhona I never made it over to you! I need more hours in my day!!)

Leah and I have had some fun this evening making videos. Just silly family stuff and videos of Shadow - but we sure had fun. (You will probably get to see one of them at the end of this.)

(my two hunks!!)
Kristian and Andrew desperately needed a hair cut, so they took care of that this evening too. It certainly has been an productive evening.Whew!! Thank goodness its Friday tomorrow!!

Roll on Friday

...at least that is what Sara and Kristian are wishing.

On Friday they head off to Belgium with Winnie and her brother. They will arrive Saturday, late afternoon. Sunday they will be spectators at an international go-kart race and then Monday they start a 3 day training camp, along with a lot of other Danish go-kart drivers.

Yesterday (Monday) Kristian was away getting the cart ready. Sara and I got things ready for the trip, like booking hotel rooms! (just a minor detail!) We found some really cheap ones, which was great!!

So Monday went with the planning and organising of the Belgium trip.

Today I came home late. One of "my" old people from my time in Home care called me. She had fallen last week and was still not feeling the best. She had hardly any food left and was wondering if I could shop for her. So after work I headed to town to get her some essentials.

I then went home to her and spent a few hours with her, just talking and helping with some practical things. She was just so appreciative. I get so annoyed sometimes at the governments home care/health care system. So many rules and regulations, the health carers hardly have time to do anything for the old people anymore. I loved my time in the home care/health care place but I did get annoyed at all the rules, many of them, I felt took away care from the old people. It was nice just to be there today without having to worry about the rules of what we were allowed to do and not do!

It was really windy today so I was so happy when Kristian rang me just as I was leaving the old persons house. He was wondering where I was. Ahhhh!! (Nice to be missed!) He then came in the car and got me so I didnt have to bike it home in the wind. (The bike was stuck unto the back of the car, so I have it for tomorrow again!)

Now back to this Belgium trip - I am secretly wishing I could go too. I have never been to Belgium...(only drove through it once on our way to France) so suddenly tonight I got a keen interest in go-kart! I tried to convince Sara and Kristian that it was my great passion - somehow they didnt buy it!!

Well you cant blame me for trying!!

Full house

Its been another busy weekend with a house filled with people.

Friday night Sara had her friend Christina staying here. She came for dinner and then we did what we always do on a Friday - watched X-factor, ate sweets and ice cream. Lovely relaxing night - just what we needed after a busy week.

Saturday Leah was having her cousin Annie come to "play". (Apparently its not called play now days, its called "being together". Help - I can feel another teenager emerging!! ) Leah is one week older than Annie and they both had a blast together. They played hairdressers, were out skateboarding, played computer, played football. I think a great day was had by all.

While Leah had her cousin Annie here, Sara had her cousin Christine here. (One friend leaves, another friend comes!) Our church had rented an ice rink all for themselves and so there was a fun ice skating night arranged for those from 13 - 30 years. (Now how depressing is that when you dont fit into that age bracket - I would have loved to have gone!! Anne and I talked today about that, next time we are going to dress up as teenagers and try and sneak along for the fun!! haha)

Kristian played taxi driver. He drove Andrew and his two friends to the church, then it was back to get Sara and Christine and drive them off too.

They said they had a great time skating, playing ice hockey and just being together.

Last night I learnt that communication is an important thing...

We had to pick the kids up again at the church around 10.30pm, so close to that time, I rang Sara to see if they had arrived at the church. (Our church is in the next town) She said that Christine and her were getting left off at the train station. What a great idea - I thought. So I rang Andrew to hear whose car he was in. I got him to ask them if he and his friends could also get left off at the train station in our town. Yes - the driver could do that. So that meant Kristian didnt have to drive to the next town to pick up the kids, even though it only takes 10 - 12 minutes. Now it would take him 2 minutes to drive down to our train station. Yes - life was good!!

So off Kristian went to get the kids. He found Andrew and his two friends and they waited 5 mintues for Sara and Christine. Finally Kristian rang her...."Where are you" he asked. "Over by the taxi´s" said Sara. Kristian told her that he was in the post office car park so they could just go over there. He waited again. After a few minutes she still hadnt turned up. He rang again. Thats when he discovered that Sara and Christine had got left off at the train station in the next town and not the train station in our town!!! So after dropping off the boys, Kristian had to drive to the next town, anyway and pick up the girls! haha

Now I really should have found out what train station they were at - I just assumed it was the one in our town and sara meant the one in the next town which is closer to us than the church. (so she was trying to save her dad a bit of driving!)

While all this was going on I was trying to prepare for today. I was to speak in our old church, so I was reading and studying and trying to get my thoughts down on paper. It all came together in the end and today we had a lovely morning at church. I think I got across what I wanted to say!

After church we had a surprise party for the two people who have led the church for the last many years. They both turned 70 and so everyone brought some food and we ate together after the service. It was really lovely. They were so surprised and delighted that we did that.

It has really been a great weekend - yet again!!

Up to mischief...

From time to time at work, we like to get up to mischief. We hide things in each others bags or coat pockets. Or we ourselves hide in different places around the school and jump out and scare each other. We really do have some fun.
Well today we decided to sew my bosses trousers together.
I came into our wee room and saw his jeans lying on his desk. (Now what were his jeans doing lying on the desk - I hear you ask! Well he was working outside laying some tiles or something, so he had taken off his jeans and put on old heavy workmen trousers.) So when I saw his jeans lying there I got the idea to sew them. I shared this with one of my colleagues who was near by. She was all for it!
We knew Peter was going to the dump with a lot of things, so we waited until his car left the school grounds and then we went to work. What fun we had!
We sewed the one leg at the top, and the other leg we sewed around the bottom. I am sure he had a job getting into them today when he changed to go home. hahaha Was actually tempted to put them in water and then hide them in the freezer...but thought that was maybe going a bit overboard!! haha
(I happened to have my camera with me today. I had put it in my bag on Wednesday for going horse riding with Leah, just in case I wanted to take some pictures. I had forgotten to take it out. Good job I did, I could get some shots of us doing the terrible deed!! haha)

It nearly that time again....

The other day I thought spring was on the way. Today totally ruined that idea!! I woke up to frost and this afternoon when I left work it was snowing!! It snowed a good part of the afternoon.

Kristian was off work yesterday and today with a bad cold, so my wish came true and I got the car to take Leah horse riding. She had a great time. In fact she had such a great time that she forgot to leave back the riding boots, and helmet that we borrowed from the centre. We were on the road home when we realised she still had on all the gear. I didnt even notice she had it on!! (She can borrow stuff fromt he centre so we dont have to buy everything all at once. It also gives us a chance to see if she likes it before we invest in the all the stuff!) So we had to quickly find a place to turn the car and head back and confess that we had had a big time senior moment!! Ooops - better pay more attention next time!!

Go-kart season is soon starting (OH NOOOO!!) and Sara and Kristian are sooooo looking forward to it. Sara has got the loan of a cart for the whole season. It is just amazing how it all worked out. To buy a used cart for the class she is racing in this year would cost around £1500 without a motor!!! We just couldnt afford this, but a racing team came to her and said they would sponsor a cart for her with a motor!!

So tonight Kristian and Sara went down to see the cart and to work at putting the cart together. (Kristian is feeling a lot better this evening - amazing how quickly a man can get better when a go-kart is involved!! haha)

Next weekend they drive with Winnie and her brother to Belgium for a 3 day training camp. They are like a couple of kids waiting for Christmas. Sara is training hard every day so she can take the pressure. The big problem is the head and neck. You get so tired when racing that your head sort of hangs in the end....so she is training up those neck muscles. I must admit she is doing well. But the neck muscles are not the only muscles getting trained. She told me to punch her in the stomach the other day. I did - and she tightened those muscles....it was like hitting a wall. Amazing girl!!

Sara is so happy to be able to race yet again.

As for me - I have had a fantastic day. I have been getting home late every day this week from work, like between 5pm and 6pm. By the time you make dinner and clear up the evening has gone.

Today I was home at 2.45pm. It was wonderful. I had nothing on for once. Leah also had no friends home today and so we just relaxed together. (Andrew was out with his friend) I was so tired that I fell asleep on the sofa and woke at 4.30pm.

Andrew was eating at his friends, so Leah and I had a cosy night in front of the TV, eating our dinner. It´s not too often we sit in the living room and eat and we enjoyed ourselves while the snow was blazing around outside. Yes, its been a lovely day.

Tuesday, 10 March 2009

A looooong day!!

It sure has been a long day. I was asked to work over today due to some poeple being sick and others being on courses etc. I said I would, I didnt mind doing it. (It also meant that I could pay back the last few hours that I owed work for the time I got off for going to Ireland. Now I owe work nothing. Anytime I work over from now will be time I can take off in the future....so looking forward to building up my hours so I can get a ½ day or a full day off!)

So having said yes to work over I didnt finish work till 4.45pm! (I left home at 6.25am) Whew what a long day - but a very fulfilling one. I got lots of things done at work. I finally got into the house about 5.5opm. I am so glad that I dont work to that time every day.

The evening has gone by so fast!! I havent been very productive here at home. Just got dinner made and the dishes finished (yes the dishwasher is still broke!!) and then Andrew told me that he had promised his teacher that I would bake boller (danish baps) for his class tomorrow. Why do my children do things like this!!! haha

I have started them. Just waiting to get them out of the oven. I cheated - I had a couple of boxes were you just add water and they are ready, so they should turn out ok!! Hopefully the kids can eat them! haha

(my wee sick husband)

Kristian however is not ok. He is coming down with a bad cold. He has been lying sleeping on the sofa since we finished dinner. Poor wee thing. I am trying to make him stay at home tomorrow from work. (but thats because I have a selfish motive. You see if he is home I then get the car for work and also for taking Leah to her horse riding...otherwise we have to take the train and bus and I have to work out how we get to the riding school on the public transport.....yes it would be so much easier if Kristian was sick and in bed! haha)

Seriously though I hope it is just a cold and not a flu that he is coming down with. I will have to give him lots of TLC!!

Ok got to go and get the boller out of the oven.....

Spring is on the way...

...well at least that is what I am hoping. Yes - me who loves the winter and the dark nights. I am actually now looking forward to spring. I think its because today I got a little taste of spring. This morning when I woke there was frost outside...so it wasnt that that got me in the spring mood. It was the fact that is was light outside when I biked it to the station. I didnt need any lights this morning. It was soooo wonderful.

Then this afternoon when I left work the sun was shining and it was just such a beautiful afternoon. I needed to go shopping. Kristian and Sara were going to visit the people who lent her their go-cart, last year, for the whole go-kart season. (They had an extra one in their garage that wasnt being used, so they said Sara could borrow it. ) So Kristian and Sara wanted to take a gift down to them to say thanks for the year that was gone.

Off course who gets the job of finding a gift - yeah, me! But then again I am not complaining cos I love to do things like that. So after work I walked through the forest up to town. It was just soooo beautiful. I wish I had of had my camera with me. (Must remember to put it in my bag.) I enjoyed the scenery sooo much.

I then spent a few hours walking around town having a look in all sorts of shops. I knew I didnt need to rush home as Leah was away at a friends house from school. It was really nice just to window shop.

I then found some things for the present...sweets, chocolate, drinks and a couple of films. We made a movie basket for them, only the basket was an old go-kart tyre cut in half....thought it was appropriate for go-kart people.

So Kristian and Sara are now off visiting the people, while Leah, Andrew and I are relaxing here at home. I actually shouldnt be relaxing, but should be getting my lesson ready for tomorrow. I have to take the school assembly.....so I better say goodbye for this time.

Saturday, 7 March 2009

Oh what a night!!

I was asked, along with my friend Anne, to serve at my colleagues wifes birthday party. It was to take place at the school and we were to serve the starter, set up the buffet, serve coffee and dessert, then wash up the dirty dishes.(All the food would be delivered, ready cooked, just to be served.) Sounded simple enough. But nothing is simple when Anne and I are in charge!!

We arrived at 5pm and got all our instructions. The guests would arrive at 6.30pm so we made our plan.

At 6pm we would open the wine and set it on the tables, at 6.10pm we would put the bread in the oven to warm and take the water, coke, 7up etc up to the tables. We would then light all the candles around the room. At 6.20pm we would take out the prawns and salmon and set them on the table.

Everything went well. We put the bread in the oven at 6.10pm. We took a few bottles of coke and a jug of water each and went upstairs to set them on the table. We lit the candles. While lighting the candles I said to Anne "Imagine if we burnt the bread, wouldnt that be awful!" and we laughed. No that couldnt happen, we said to each othere, it had after all only been in the oven a few minutes and we happily went downstairs again into the kitchen.

Well the shock that awaited us!! The bread was burnt!!!! (Dont ask me how it happened.) It had literllay only been in the oven 5minutes. It was 6.15pm and I had put it in 6.10pm. (at 200 degrees) We paniced (then exploded into laughter.) It was then out with knives to try and cut away the really bad burnt bits. Anne cut of the ends and hid them in her bag!! hahaha we had to hide the evidence! We were really in a panic - the kitchen was covered in smoke and the guests would be there very soon....whatever happened to our neatly planned programme!!

Anyway, we got the starter served without the guests suspecting that we really didnt have a clue about what we were doing!! haha

We sweated buckets as we tried to cut the meats and get everything ready to serve for the main course. That went ok. Whew!!!

Then we were to serve coffe, fruit pie and ice cream for dessert. We thought we had control over everything. The ice cream cake was ready to be served (it had to be taken out of the freezer 15 minutes before serving and we had done that)...the pies and fresh cream ready, the plates and coffee cups out and ready. We would serve dessert in 5 minutes. We were soooo proud of ourselves, we were getting the hang of this catering thing, when it struck us, we hadnt made any tea or coffee!!! Panic again....hahaha Oh what a night!!

Finally came the bit we were good at, the cleaning up. The kitchen literally looked like a bomb had hit it. It is a big industrial kitchen, lots of worktops and space and we used every inch of space available. Once we got clearing up though, well it went like clockwork. That was the part we enjoyed.

We decided that serving/catering was just not for us.

The guests didnt suspect a thing but the havoic that went on behind the closed doors of the kitchen was another story. The guests had a great time, the food was delicious and we looked like we had control of everything when the guests were around. haha

I am just so thankful that we didnt have to make the food. Could you imagine the disaster that would have been.

But it was a great evening, even though we sweated and paniced and ran around at times like chickens without any heads. In between all of that we were able to eat some delicious food and have a good natter and off course laugh.

I also had a senior moment this evening. I totally forgot its the first of the month and chat night. I am soooo sorry for forgetting and forgetting to post a reminder....maybe we can fit another chat night in sometime in the middle of March ....I´ll get back to you all with dates.

Oh I forgot...

I forgot to tell you what happened in Ikea on Monday...

Last time I was in there they had set up a new display for shelves and it was set up like a shoe shop. They had shoes and boots displayed everywhere. (I knew they were just for display, just the way they have loads of books in a living room display.) Anyway last time we were in my friend and I talked about going over to one of the assistants and asking for a certain in shoe in another size. But we couldnt do it for laughing.

Well on Monday we did it. It was hilarious. I took one of the shoes down and found this really nice sales assistant. "Excuse me, would you have this shoe in a size 40" He looked at me weirdly and then very nicely said "Sorry but those shoes are only for display - we dont sell shoes." as he gave me a really sorrowful look.

I then couldnt keep my face straight any longer...I said - "I know, I´m sorry but I just couldnt resist doing that - and you were so nice to me." We told him about how we had wanted to do that for a while. He laughed with us and took it all very well.

Later we were in the bedroom department - there in one of the wardrobes was loads of clothes. I said to my friend " How about taking them out and then finding a sales assistant and asking where the changing rooms are!!" That set us off again in a laughing fit. (I know little amuses me!) Unfortunately we couldnt find one. We will have to just try that one next time!!!

Half way there!!

Unbelievable...its already Wednesday!! Where has the week gone!??

Monday evening I headed out to Ikea with my friend Audry. We were last there in November so we had a great night walking around. I got 8 new mugs for about £3.50!! Now thats what I call a bargin!! When Ikea finally closed we headed over to McDonalds and sat and chatted. It was nearly 11pm when I finally got home!

Tuesday after work I went to visit one of the old people that I used to go to when I worked in Home Care. We were going to town shopping. I went by to help her down her steps and then we headed out. It was sooo nice to see her again. She hasnt been well for a few months and was not up to having visitors, so we had a lot of catching up to do. I had a lovely afternoon with her.

I came home to make dinner and then disaster happened. The dishwasher broke. It is totally dead!! So we are back to washing up by hand!! (Now I realise how spoilt I have been all these years!)

Today Leah started horse riding. She had a great time. She had to be there for 4 o´clock. We thought we would have to take the train and bus but Kristian was able to leave work early so we could, at least for today, have the car. The place was sooo cosy. The people were friendly and she has already learnt alot after just one lesson.

I really enjoyed being there too. Just going into the stables - the smell of hay and horses was soooo wonderful! (I was back living on Kristians brothers farm again.Memories came flooding back!) It was really cold so after a while I went and sat in the car and read my book. Sort of a nice way to spend a Wednesday afternoon!

It might have been a great lesson but 50 minutes on a horse has its consquences. She now has a sore bum and legs and is lying on the sofa dead to the world.

Monday, 2 March 2009

Now where did that weekend go???

I would like to know where the weekend went - it just seemed to fly by.

Friday started early for me....like 1.08am!! I was woken by Sara. "MUM - I am sick, I have just thrown up over the living room floor, I couldnt make it to the bathroom!!" What a mess there was. (She had been out with her friend and her family to eat at a restaurant. On the way home she started to feel funny. Wen she came home she went straight to bed but woke up a few hours later feeling terrible.) She was sick all night long. Finally got into bed around 2am but at 4.04am I was woken again. I got an SMS from her - I have thrown up 5 times!! What a night. Well through it all God taught me something and I got a talk out of it for my Sunday introduction in church....so it wasnt all in vain.

Friday evening we had guests. Kristians old colleagues came for dinner. I made the most delicious food (even if I say so myself!!) I really surprised myself, everything tasted soooo good and on top of that I made 2 pavolas and a cheese cake and they were all absolutely to die for!! (Dont ask me how I did it - it was a miracle anything turned out after the little sleep that I had the night before.) We had a great evening with his old colleagues, although at midnight I was going a bit cross eyed...it was hard to stay awake. Finally at 2am they all headed home.

(Photo of Capernwray Hall - great place to go on holiday!)

Saturday we went to visit Krisitans sister Hanne and her husband Flemming. They had Mark Thomas from Capernwray Hall Bible School visiting them. He comes every year on his way to the Bible school in Sweden, so every year we go and visit Hanne and Flemming, get some great food and have a chance to catch up with Mark and all the news from Capernwray. (Kristian went to Bible school at Capernwray so it has a special place in his heart.) Home late again Saturday night.

Sunday after church Leah and I went to visit our friends Laura and Mia. We had a great afternoon with them and made some wonderful chocolate chip cookies!! YUMMIE!! We were home in time to eat leftovers from Friday evening, which was great, no cooking just re-heating!! Another great day....

....then it was getting ready for the start of a new week - and that was the end of that weekend. Whew!!
