Daisy....
Meet Daisy, the newest member of my friend Rhona´s family. Isn´t she just soooo cute?!!! They collected her a few days ago and today I was finally able to drop by and meet her. She is a bundle of energy! I could sit and watch her for hours playing and jumping around.
Before going to over to see Daisy, Sara, Leah and I went to town. Sara is going away tomorrow to Barcelona and so she needed a few last minute items. Once again there were loads of bargins in town. It took a lot of self control to just walk on by! One thing we did buy was a dress for Leah for her cousin`s wedding in August. It´s a beautiful dress and we got it at a good price, so mother and daughter were very happy.
After getting back from town Sara got busy with her packing. Andrew went a bit mad with clearing out his cupboards and shelves. It was big "spring clean" day for his room. (And believe me it needed it!!)
Late in the afternoon, Sara´s friend Nanna came by for a visit. It was lovely seeing her again, it´s been a while since she last was here. After dinner we girls were spontaneous! We suddenly decided to go and see a girly film and I`m glad we did. We had a lovely evening!
Now it´s almost midnight and I need to get to bed. I need to be up at 4am in the morning to drive Sara to the airport!!! So only 4 hours sleep!! Aaargghhhhh - hope we don´t sleep in!

A new me......
I am a natural girl at heart. I can´t be bothered wearing make-up, I love going around in jeans, sweat shirts and trainers. I am totally NOT into fashion! My girls on the other hand love to experiment with make up, they love fashion, they love using face creams, toners, hand creams, just having the whole works!! I really don´t know where they get it from!
So tonight Leah was experimenting with different eye shadows on herself. She then wanted to give me a make over....and why not?!!! I could do with a bit of a make over. So I got in the hot seat!!
At the end of it all I had smokey eyes!
We sure had fun taking these pictures....
And above you can see my latest project....our front balcony. I forgot to take a before picture, but it was rather boring, there was really nothing there. Now we have a cosy place to sit in the evenings.
The back balcony has sun on it all day long but the front balcony has no sun so it is a wonderful place to sit on a hot summers day.
Now my whole house is organised and I am ready for relaxation!

Weekend
Already the first week of my holiday is gone! But it has been a great week. I have REALLY enjoyed being at home clearing out things and cleaning. I threw bags of stuff out! I felt soooo good. You can now open the cupboards without things falling out, you can actually find things again! The whole house is nearly done. Today it´s our bedroom and office that will be getting a clearing and cleaning! and then I will be relaxing for the next 3½ weeks!!
Well this morning I heard Todd White on youtube and I was blessed and challenged. Just wanted to share it, so if you have time have a listen. This is only a small part of a longer teaching, so if you enjoy it go to youtube and hear some more!!

Another great day.....
with cake and friends!
This week is nearly gone and it´s been one great week. Tuesday I was shopping with my old lady, we had a great afternoon out. Then yesterday (Wednesday) I really got stuck into the rest of the house. Cupboards were totally organised and loads of stuff cleared out. Then on Wednesday evening I went to Ikea with my friend Audry. Great night out!
To-day I got up and cleaned and organised our bathroom. My reward was a piece of cake and a chat with an "old" friend. We met up in town and had the most delicious cake and a wonderful chat. The time just flew by!!
The "old" friend I met today was Rhona! She doesn´t look that old does she?!!
Rhona led me astray and made me eat the strawberry cake!! Things you do for your friends!!
Then this evening Anne dropped by for a natter. We went a walk and had a very deep discussion about coffee! haha Then it was home to ice cream, fresh cream, vanilla cream and fruit with chocolate sauce. It was delicious.
The rest of the family wanted in on the feast.
We stuffed ourselves and enjoyed chatting out in my newly made balcony. (The plants are still alive!!)
Friends are wonderful creatures!! Thanks Audry, Rhona and Anne for helping me make more happy memories: You are all wonderful, special (and I mean special in a good way!) people:-) I am so glad to have you all in my life!

Day 1
Day one of my holidays was brilliant! I went shopping!
We needed a new hoover, the old one gave up the ghost last week. The house was desperately in need of a hoovering so I couldn´t put off buying a new one any longer. I prayed I would find a good bargin and a good bargin is what I found. A Nilfisk (good make) for half price!! I was a happy woman!
When I am off work I need projects to do or I get restless, so yesterday I decided that my project would be our balcony. It needed a make over, so while out shopping I decided to buy plants. I went to Bauhaus and Silvan, big DIY shops that have garden centers attached to them, but was soooo surprised at how awful their plants were. They were all nearly dead! I ended up buying all my plants at the local supermarket, in good condition and at half the price. I again was a happy woman! So it was home to clear up the balcony!
This was the balcony before.
Dull and boring. But.......
a few plants helped to cheer the place up!
Some candlelight made it cosy when dusk started to fall.
Sara enjoyed sitting out there with her computer and a snack.
And even Shadow enjoyed herself.
I am still not totally finsihed with it. I would love to buy "green grass" carpet (no, I´m not crazy, it´s carpet for balconys!) for out there but it was too long to put in my car. I need to wait till Kristian has time to help with that. (that might be a loooonnnng wait! haha)
I would also love to get a different type of chair and another type of wee table for out there, but that may have to wait for another year!! For now I am going to enjoy it as it is! I don´t know how long it will look like that. I give the plants about 3 weeks before they are all dead! haha but I am really going to try this year and look after them this year and not over water them!!
Now all I need is my parcel of books from Amazon to arrive!! (Should be here any day now) Happy days!! Books and a cosy balcony!! (Must remember to buy a coke too!!)
Today I have a new project. Project apartment!!! I have such a messy apartment that needs cleaned and organised. Hopefully today and tomorrow will see that project finished!

Holiday
I am now offically on holiday! This year we are not going away but are spending time here in Denmark. Four and a half weeks of nothing!!! Well, maybe not totally nothing - I have a few plans. I want to organise and clear up the house. I want to paint some new pictures, I want to meet up with friends, I want to spend time with Kristian and the kids and last but not least I want to read books!! I think these four and a half weeks are going to fly by.
So already the weekend has gone by soooo quickly. After the drama of Thursday things settled down again rather nicely. The girls had a great time together. On Saturday we went of to the swimming pool for a few hours in the afternoon, just Leah, Annie and me. (It brought back some good memories of our family fun days. When the kids were small, all 5 of us would, now and again, head of to the swimming pool for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. Then it was home to eat Kristian´s home made burgers while watching a Disney film. Being at the swimming pool made me miss having small kids!)
After dinner we decided to go out a walk. It was a lovely evening but we could see that the dark clouds were coming in. It looked like rain was on the way!

We arrived home just in time. As we ran up the steps to our apartment, the heavens opened and the rain poured down. We had the most awesome thunder storm. It was so close it actually was a little scary. Once the storm had passed we settled down to play some Ligretto (a fun card game) and then ended the evening by watching a film.
Today we drove Annie down to her other Granny and Grandad´s house. It´s about an hours drive away from here, just south of Copenhagen. We took the motorway but could see that the traffic was at a total stand still on the other side of the motor way.
Leah and I decided to drive the country roads home and avoid the motorway and Copenhagen. So glad we did! Kristian has been in Sweden all day and just got in after sitting hours in traffic on the same motorway. The storm last night flooded many areas in Copenhagen, that´s why there was a big hold up.
Now I am tired and ready for bed. Tomorrow I hope to get this house organised and cleaned. Let´s hope it´s not soooo warm tomorrow!! The heat here at the moment is awful - roll on Autumn!!
