Sad day for Kristian

Well you can probably guess from the title that Kristian didn´t get the job. :-(

He´s disappointed but we believe something else will turn up. So he´s back at the computer searching for more possible jobs. Hopefully he will get one soon so he can get going again. (Although I will miss his cleaning!! - maybe he should start his own cleaning business....now there´s a thought - must share it with him later.)

The weather is beautiful here in Denmark. Warm and sunny. We even sat out and ate lunch at work. Although maybe that wasn´t such a good idea. It was really hard to get going again. Don´t know how I got through the last few hours - but managed it.

Now it´s great to be home relaxing.Tonight I am heading off to Ikea with my friend Audry. Every other month we have a night at Ikea. We just LOVE going there. We spend 2-3 hours there and then when they close we end the evening with McDonalds. When the kids were small and I needed a bit of peace and quiet I would drive off to Ikea for a couple of hours. (I know you probably think I´m crazy, but going there really relax´s me!)Then I met Audry and found out she also had a love for Ikea. So we started having girls nights out at Ikea. I am sooo looking forward to this evening. Haven´t seen Audry in a while so it will be nice to catch up with her.Ok nothing very exciting to report today, so I think I better just stop waffling....

Fantastic church weekend

We have just come home from a fantastic weekend away with our church. We left Friday afternoon and spent the weekend in a campsite about 20 minutes drive here. It was great to get away and have fellowship together. There was A LOT of fun and laughter and A LOT of delicious food. There was time to talk with each other, but also time for quietness, time for teaching, time for worship and time for prayer. Take a look at the pictures below and get a little idea of what went on at the weekend.

So good to see my crazy friend Anne at the church weekend!!

Arriving at the weekend on Friday evening. The teenagers made us all feel very welcome as we arrived.

Andrew and I on the way to find our rooms.

A beautiful Saturday afternoon and Leah is out enjoying the sunshine and her friends.

Time for Andrew to try some Sumo wrestling!

Kristian and Andrew enjoying their Saturday afternoon playing football. Andrew scored a goal!!

Saturday night fun. This is our group interperting a song through drama and dance.( I am the one to the left with the long ginger hair.) It was funny.
More Saturday night fun...there was a Sumo wrestling tournament. One of the rounds was called Saxo Sumo and the two saxophone players in the church had to compete against each other. This was Kristian and Susanne. (Kristian is in the blue.) Check out the film below and see how their fight went.(bit unfair I would say putting a boy against a girl!!)

Still no news

....it´s Friday afternoon and we still haven´t heard anything from the company. So we can relax this weekend. We wont hear anything now until Monday, latest Tuesday.

Some other news...there was a write up about Sara in our local paper. They told about her race last Friday and how she had ended in 4th place. There was also a picture of her in her go-kart. We knew nothing about it so we were really surprised when we were flicking through the paper and saw the headlines "16 year old Sara is driving well". She was all pleased.

No news is good news

... well isn´t that what they say?!! I do hope they are right.

Kristian went for his second interview yesterday. He had 4 people interviewing him this time, so it was tough, but he gave it all he had. He thinks it went well. They said he was a difinite candidate for the job but they also had other good candidates to think about. So we just don´t know! We haven´t heard anyting today and we might not hear anything until Tuesday off next week. Really hope we get news tomorrow. This waiting is terrible!!! So keep praying!! Will keep you posted!

Big day tomorrow

Well tomorrow is a big day for Kristian. He has his second interview with the company in Copenhagen. If he comes to mind tomorrow at 1.15pm please say a prayer for him. I am so nervous for him. I just want him to get this job soooo much because he would really like it. It is exactly want he wants to do and I know he`ll be so disappointed if he doesnt get it. But we´ll cross that bridge when we get to it. God knows what is best....I will keep you posted.

Today has been another lovely day here in Denmark. I have been at work - had a really good day there. I left work a little early (I have lots of overtime to be used up) and met Kristian. We went to town to the opticians. His eye sight is getting worse (but just a little) so he needs some new glasses. We couldn´t make up our mind which glasses we liked, so decided to leave it for today and look again some other day.

We came home and Leah and Kristian went out roller skating while I went for a run. It was just beautiful outside. Have a look at the picture below - it is only 5 minutes walk away from our home. Nice area to go for walks.

A Relaxing Sunday

Today I had to speak in church. I am always so nervous when I have to speak, big responsibility, but I think it went well. I got so much out of it, I was really challenged through my preparations. I was talking about having a passion for God, to have Him first in our lives and I was speaking from the life of Moses and the children of Israel.

After church we came home and had lunch. It was such a beautiful day here so Kristian and I decided to go for a drive. (The great thing about having big kids is that Kristian and I are getting some free time together again.) The kids just wanted to relax at home. So we headed out to explore Denmark.

We decided to find a place on the map that we had never been before. We found this lovely area with a beautiful forest and lake, and it actually wasn´t too far from where we live. We went a walk around the lake and enjoyed the sun, the nature and each other. It has been such a nice afternoon! We really must do this a bit more!! (Photos are from our afternoon out - just in case you hadn´t worked that out:-)
