Back to normal....

Life is finally getting back to normal.

This week we actually had a life outside of packing and un-packing!

Thursday evening I got to see my friend Audry again. We went on our girlie night out to...wait for it... Ikea. We shopped till they closed the place at 9pm and then it was over to McDonalds for a good feed and chat. (I actually came home with more money in my purse than when I went! Now that´s a first! It´s because had a few things to return to Ikea!) It was great seeing her again and catching up with her life. The last time we were out together was in July so there was a lot of catching up to do. It was very late by the time I got home!

Friday I heard that my old lady friend was in hospital, so on the way home from work, I went by to see how she was doing. She was doing ok. They are doing lots of tests, so hopefully they will get to the bottom of her problems.

It was then off to do food shopping and stock up for the weekend and next week.  The house then got a hoovering and dusting and the bathroom got a cleaning. I made stew for dinner and after dinner I baked some buns. Phew! What a day, I really did accomplish a lot!

I was excited about Friday evening because Sara was coming home. I was so looking forward to seeing her and also for her to see the new place. She had only seen the place when the old kitchen was in, the old lino down and the old carpet was on the living room floor. The place was dusty and smelly so I was looking forward to showing her what we had done.

She had a friend with her - Christian. He is a very special person in her life. They have been going out for some time now and she seems to be in love.

So the two of them arrived Friday evening, all the way from Ã…rhus. It was great catching up with her life over there.

Then this morning we had a well deserved lie in! I made brunch for us all and we had a few hours sitting around eating and talking. Sara and Christian then headed off to meet Winnie (Sara´s best friend) and Martin. who just happens to be Christian´s brother! Winnie and Martin are going out together too. Anyway, it was great seeing Sara, (and Chrsitan). Now we have to wait till Christmas to see her again.

After Sara and Christian left, Kristian and I spent the afternoon out in the garage emptying more boxes and clearing out. We worked for hours and made a small improvement in the garage. We still have my wee art studio/gallery to sort out too. This is a big project that is going to take a bit of time. but Rome wasn´t built in one day! I have to spring to get it all ready!

This evening we needed a break! We decided we would go and see the new James Bond film. Andrew wasn´t interested in seeing it, but Leah, Kristian and I were, so we booked tickets. We invited my good friend (and neighbour) Laura and her daughter. They were more than happy to come along, so after dinner all 5 of us piled into our wee car and away we went. The film was so good and we all really enjoyed it.
Now it´s time for bed! This day, in fact this week has just flown by.

And relax....

I think today has been the first day that Kristian and I have come home from work and done absolutely nothing on the house.  We sat down this evening and just relaxed! We haven´t done that in nearly 2 months and it felt wonderful.

After work today my friend Anette from church came by. We had to plan our Christmas musical. Every year we have a musical for the children at church. We  meet at the church on a Friday afternoon and spend the weekend practising for our big performance on Sunday morning. The children have a weekend to learn songs,  practise dances, learn lines and paint scenery. We always have a great weekend together and I am really looking forward to this one at the start of December. Should be fun!

So the rest of my evening has been spent on here, going down memory lane. When I started this blog way back in 2008 it was mainly to keep a journal of the things we had been up to as a family. A sort of diary, only online as I  love to type. Now after all this time I am sooo glad that I have a record. Many of the things I read about tonight I probably would never remember.

I don´t think I would remember that in October 2008 I went to see Mamma Mia (the film) for the 6th time. We got our cat too and I shared some funny stories about life with her, which I had totally forgotten about. I also wrote a few songs back then too. I took a baking fit and baked some cakes, which didn`t turn out all that good. In 2009 we had family fun night at Annes, a clear out of the apartment and a Ladies night out...In October 2010 I locked my car keys in the car, saw the film "Fried Green Tomatoes " for the first time and went to a Jimmy Nedham concert.

It sure has been fun reading old storeis and looking at old photos.

I sure am glad I started this blog. A place to record everyday life and stories that so easily can be forgotten.

Now I am so relaxed that I can hardly keep my eyes open. It´s off to dreamland for me. Goodnight

I love....

....weekends!

It was a short week for me at work. I only had a 4 day week as I arrived back here in Denmark late Monday evening. after a great few days with dad. As usual the time in Ireland went by too quickly.

Even though I had only 4 days to work, I was longing for the weekend:-)

So our weekend started with a wonderful long lie in! I woke at 9.30am, which is just wonderful when I normally get up at 6am! It was a beautiful morning and so Kristian and I decided that before getting breakfast, or even getting ready for the day, that we would go a walk down the lane to see the sheep.

This is the kind of nature that is surrounding us. You go out the front door, walk about 5 metres to the lane, turn right and walk about 20 metres and you arrive here  Beautiful:-)
 It was cold but sunny.

Things at the house are slowly coming together. Today we got a few more boxes emptied. We still have a load of boxes in the garage to empty, yet everything we need is now in the house, so some serious clearing out needs to be done!

The kitchen is more or less finished. I still need to get my curtain made. Maybe tomorrow I will make a start on it.....mmmhhh let´s see:-)

On Wedenseday at work I saw this wonderful piece of art lying out the back beside the bins. (see below) I went in and asked my boss who it belonged to. He said it was no ones, it was being thrown out! I asked if I coud have it - YES! So now I have a unquie piece of art in my dining area! (Yes it is a tree!)

It is not totally finished yet. The idea is that we will mount it on another piece of wood so the branches actually touch the ceiling, so it looks like it is going through the ceiling. I need to clean off some more of the bark and then clean it up. I hope to put lights on it and move the cabinet a little over to give it more room. In the end I think it will look really cool! I really love it, I think it is just so beautiful. (Kristian just shook his head when he saw it and heard of my idea. He really is a gem letting me be so crazy.)

This is our bathroom. We haven´t done too much to it. We did take  those awful cupboards away that were there. We cleaned it up and bought a new shower curtain and mat. I actually like it. It´s big and roomie and also lovely and warm!

'
So that´s about all there is to tell about the house at the minute.

Other breaking news is that Andrew did his driving test on Wednesday and failed:-( Oh he was so disappointed. My heart went out to him. He passed his theory a few weeks back so he was really hoping he would pass his practical driving first time round. Unfortunately he didn´t. It is sooo expensive to take your test here. We thought it cost 800kr (about 80 pounds) but it turns out it costs 1500kr (about 150 pounds!) It is total robbery! Anyway a new date has been set and he hopes that he will do better this time and not be as nervous. He wants to hear the words "passed" and not "failed" next time around:-)

Our day....

Our day today started with a walk around the corner to the local cafe for a fry!

 The Fry was delicious....

It was then home again to relax for a while. Andrew enjoyed being on the computer...
Dad was feeling good today so we decided to go a little walk into town.
We got to shop and take photos. Dad got some lovely shots of the City. I got to hang out with a few friends:-) It really was a lovely afternoon.

Then this evening my cousin Lorraine dropped by. It was so lovely to catch up with her and hear some really funny stories. Thanks for the laugh Lorraine.

A new shop, an "old" friend....

This afternoon Andrew and I went to town. As we dandered along by the Fountain centre I decided to go in and check out a shop that I have passed by a few times without ever going in. I just got through the door of the shop when I bumped into an "old" friend - Etta.

It was so lovely to see her again. We stood and chatted for a few minutes and then decided we would go get a hot chocolate. We both didn´t have much time but a half an hour over a delicious hot chocolate was just wonderful! It was really great to see her in person again. (Thanks Etta for the chocolate and chat - I really enjoyed catching up again!) (Notice again that I forgot to get  a photo and I had my camera in my bag - aarrrghhhhh! :-)

While we were away catching up with each other Andrew went to Primark to see if he could find any bargins. He didn´t find anything he liked but he did end up getting a hair cut for just £9! Now that was a bargin compared to Danish prices! He looks well and is really pleased with his new hair cut.

Dad was at the hospital this morning. We both were up early and at the hospital for 8.30am! He got platelets again and by 10am the platelets were all finished. We thought we would soon be heading home, however they then decided to give dad a top up of blood too.  So a unit of blood had to be ordered. This mean´t he would be in the hospital a little while longer.  He got his blood and is now feeling really good having got platelets and blood. Lets hope he  has a great weekend without any nose bleeds.

The nurses in the hospital are really fantastic. They are so caring and helful, they really do a fantastic job!

This evening we have all been soooo lazy. We have sat and watched TV and films. I couldn´t stay awake long enough to see the end of the film. I fell asleep on the sofa. Now I think it´s time for me to get myself off to bed.

It´s been a lovely day once again:-)

Miracles can happen......

.....today we experienced a miracle.

Dad woke this morning with a nose bleed. Not good! So he plugged his nose with tissue paper like he always does. He sat on the chair with his head back and waited.

Two hours later and his nose was still dripping blood. The plugs of tissue were soaked in blood in no time. Ummmh I was getting worried, I knew we would need to ring the hospital soon. Dad however really didn´t want to ring the hospital. He knew they would send him to the Royal and he probably would be kept in for a few days. (He has been in hospital so much over the last few months because of nose bleeds.) This was the last thing he wanted.

I got an idea. Dad listens to a man called Andrew Wommack on the God channel and has really been blessed by his teaching. So I suggested we ring his ministry and get them to pray for his nose bleed. That´s what we did. At first we couldn´t get through, all the operators were busy but we could leave our name and number and they would get back to us.

Within 10 minutes a lovely lady rang us back. She heard what dads problem was and encouraged him and then she prayed the most wonderful prayer of faith. She spoke to his nose bleed and commanded it to stop bleeding in Jesus name.  We said goodbye and hung up the phone. Dad then took the old plug out of his nose, it had been in a while and was soaked in blood. He stuck up a new plug and let it sit a while, he then took it down and there was hardly any blood on it. He stuck a new one up again and let it sit a while again. Next time he took it down nothing was there. A miracle:-) His nose had stopped bleeding. There has been no sign of blood since late morning.

That meant we were able to go and visit Gillian (my sister-in-law) like we had planned. Late afternoon we headed down to see her and the kids.

Gillian and I got time to chat and catch up.

We had time to sit and relax and see some TV. I am now hooked on Emmerdale! haha

We had a lovely evening with them. Now we are home at dads again and about to head to bed. It´s been a lovely day.
