The cat is gone.....

.....its true!

We had our neighbour up this evening for dinner. The cat was around us most of the evening. When the neighbour went home we went out unto the balcony to bring Shadow in - she loves to sit out there and relax. We have a bit of a wiry fence up so she cant get out. Well that didnt work well - cause she got out!

Kristian then thought he saw something down in the grass (the time was about 11.30pm) so he went down to see if it was her. It was a cat - a black cat, so it must have been her, but she took off. (I think she has had a taste of freedom!)

Its a wonder we all werent arrested....5 of us were crawling around on the grass in the dark, looking in our neighbours gardens, calling out for Shadow while banging her dinner dish. It was to no avail. She is gone:-(

I have a really sad daughter. Leah has cried her eyes out. We hope she turns up again tomorrow, and if someone finds her she has an ear mark - so they know who she belongs too.

Problem is now I cant sleep - its 00.18 and I have to get up at 5am!!! What a night its been. Worse thing is that we go off to France on Saturday!! Will she turn up before then??

You poor things, but you know what cats are like - they can be gone for months and then turn up out of the blue looking for food. At least it's warm out and there is always someone willing to feed a cute stray cat.

Dont get too upset, my cat disappears all the time, sometimes for a week or two but he always comes back. Cats are very clever, they know which side their bread is buttered on! Ronnie always says a cat will go next door if it thinks it will get fed whereas a dog is too stupid to know there is a next door!! If you could get one of those feeding bowls with a timer on them then you could leave food out for her while you are away, that will keep her close to home. But try to reassure Leah, they are very independent animals, they like to wander every so often but they always come home in the end.
