I'm back!!!!!

.....back to blogging and back in Belfast!!!

It's been a crazy since my last post! So many things to do and not enough time to do it. It was mainly church work, teaching material and ideas that needed to be ready. I think I set my goals a little too high - creative things take soooo much time to get ready, and I had this crazy creative idea that took hours and hours to get ready. Anyway I made it!! and I did have a bit of time for fun in between it all.

Friday was my birthday - 41!!!!! (one year closer to the big 50!!! depressing or what!! haha) I got a new bench for my balcony. I was soooo happy. For a few months now I have been wanting to buy a bench for out there. I want to buy lots of plants and turn it into a wee haven of rest. Well Kristian started that process for me on Friday. He took the day off work.(without me knowing!) Andrew was off school and so the two of them got the old picnic bench out, cleared up all the bits and pieces that we had stuck out there and then assembled the bench.

When I came home from work the house was clean and tidy (to my surprise)and then I got to see my new balcony(also a surprise). I was sooo pleased. Now I cant wait to buy more bits and pieces for out there so it can be really cosy:-) Thanks Kristian:-) and thanks to everyone else who sent me cards, presents, and greetings on my facebook wall.

Saturday we were off to a family party. Our niece was getting confirmed, so we were in church 10.30am on a Saturday morning. It was a really good service. They belong to one of the evangelical state churches and it shows. The ministers talk was sooo good.

Rebecca, our niece, loves to go on camps so she wanted her confirmation to be like that...so after the church service we all went off to camp (but not in tents!!)

We had a wonderful afternoon of food and fun with games, funny songs, and speeches. In the evening we had about 45 minutes of worship and praise, it was soooo lovely. Kristian, Andrew and I went home to sleep, as we were leaving early in the morning for the airport. However the rest of the family and friends were staying at the campsite. It was fun to see Sara, and all her big cousins become children again. They ran around the campsite with the small kids, playing hid and seek. They had a blast!

Home really late Saturday evening...it was hard to get up Sunday morning when the alarm rang! But we had a plane to catch. We left home at 7.30am and flew from Copenhagen to Stansted. Our next flight was at 3.30pm to Belfast. Home sweet home!!

In between flights there was time to eat a Burger King! I had a happy Andrew! We were worried that the flight would be closed due to the ashe, but 2 hours before take off check in opened. Everything looked good. About 1 hour before take off the gate number came up - yes it was looking good. But it wasnt to last for long!!!

Once at the gate things started to go wrong. The flight was delayed to 4.20pm, then 5.30pm, then 6.25pm, then 7.10pm. No one heard a word from Easyjet as to why or what was happening. Finally at about 7pm a man came and explained that our flight had not left belfast, but he wasnt sure why etc etc.. He really wasnt much help.

Even though it was a long afternoon/evening, it was fab just sitting there at the gate. Most of the people were from Northern Ireland, so it wasnt quiet!! Everyone was talking away to each other. It was wonderful! I loved every minute. Andrew sat smiling at me, he was enjoying it too...."All this talking to each other is something I have to get used too" he said, "but I like it"

Finally at around 8pm they started to board the plane...then when seated we were told we would have another 50 minute wait in the plane!!!!! but it wasnt that long!

Finally at 9.45pm we landed in Belfast! I was just sooo happy to be back. Waiting on the bus to take us to Belfast a taxi man came over and asked if anyone wanted a taxi to Belfast for the same price as the bus. Andrew and I jumped at the chance along with a lady from Germany. At 11pm last night I was finally able to give my dad a big hug. Its lovely to see him again. He has not been well so I am so happy to be home with him now.

I only have 4 days here. We leave early on Friday morning. This time for Dublin. So this time I havent arranged to meet up with anyone. (Sorry)I would love to but I just cant fit it in this time. I am hoping to come back in the summer. Next time for a week or two so hopefully then we can get together for some fun. (phew this was a long post! sorry it turned into a novel instead of a quick post:-)

Great to hear from you again Laura. Your bench is beautiful and I hope we all get the kind of summer that will mean you get to use it a lot.

Really glad you have been able to get back to Belfast. Hope you feel more at ease now you can see your dad and get some reassurances. It's really difficult when you only get home for a few days, because you want to do everything, but your priority is with your family. Hope Andrew is enjoying all the chatting and is managing to get a word in!!!!

Welcome home!! Please get back in the summer - Speranzas must be very quiet without us haha!! Hope your dad is okay, sorry I wont get to see you.

Ps - just imagine how much Kristian and the girls can do to the balcony in 6 days, you'll not recognise the place!!

BTW meant to say the bench looks brilliant - and no doubt when it's a bit warmer you can enjoy it, without being wrapped up for the artic:-)
