Ummhh.... writing it down should help!!!!

...thats what I told myself when I started this diet challenge at the start of the week! Writing down the list of foods I had eaten in the day was going to help me refrain from eating them, and I will admit, it did help at the start of the week, but now that its weekend I can forget about anything helping me to stick to it!!

Today found me in Copenhagen again. Leah was once again in at her puppet theatre. This time Kristian drove us in...(I dont know how he drives in Copenhagen - its totally crazy) anyway, he drove and we had a couple of hours to put in before meeting Leah again. We parked the car and took to the walking streets of Copenhagen, but we werent there long, it was just too cold, so we sought shelter in the warmth of one of the big churches. It was open for "a time of quietness and reflection" and so we sat there for about 10 minutes. It was sooo beautiful, and it was warm!!!

Was very tempted to buy a new piano today!! Went to the music shop and found out that they had a Yamaha Clavanova 405 - amazing piano going at a good price becaus e it was a demo model - just about £2700!!! Kristian was in a spending mood and was telling me to go for it....only one small problem - I didnt have £2700!!! haha (and neither did he!) but it was fun to look at it, try it out and then pretend that I did have all that money!

Just before going to pick up Leah we made a very special stop at a very special place......

Yes SUBWAY has once again come to Denmark, but it is only in Copenhagen (and a couple places way over in the west of Denmark!) I sooo enjoyed getting my teeth into a Subway melt with all the trimmings and dripping in a BBQ sauce!!!!

As for the diet - I am not even going there again - but there has been consumed A LOT of food, a lot of chocolate, crisps and cola....tomorrow I will start again:-)

Dont beat yourself up about it, we should be all be allowed to relax and enjoy our weekends. Im really going to have to start some kind of exercise regime during the week, Ive only 2 pairs of jeans that fit out of 8 or 9 pairs. And I refuse to buy more, I cant afford to buy new clothes every time I dont have the willpower to stop myself from putting a mars bar in my mouth!! So I badly need to get back into my clothes, starting with my track bottoms.

I know what you mean Lisa....ah well tomorrow is a new week and a new month so lets try again!! I thinks its ok to have a small treat every day but for me I can stop so my small treat turns into a total party of all sorts of unhealthy things hahaha So far today I have not been bad - only ate good stuff but the day is not over yet!!! haha

I assume Copenhagen will be part of a frequent detour now! Glad you enjoyed your subway

Lisa, I laughed at you not being able to get into your exercise trousers - on the other post:-)

So come on Laura what have you finished the week on????????

In my experience girls the more you think about dieting - the more you think about food - therefore the more you eat! I'm sure in my own life any time I've thought about dieting, I always ended up putting on weight! Now I just try to make sure I get exercise:-)

The one and only diet I ever did that really worked, and I wasn't even doing it to lose weight was a detox. I'd been really unwell, and decided to take drastic measures so went unto the detox for 4 weeks. I really felt great at the end of it! And what made it different was you could eat as much as you liked - but obviously only of certain foods! It was ruthless - wheat free & totally vegan for 4 weeks.

Ok, Im determined Im not eating anything the rest of the night so here goes my list
Breakfast - porridge.
Nothing mid-morning
Lunch - ham and cheese toastie, grapes, orange
Mid-afternoon - tea and the now famous mars bar
Dinner - roast beef, yorkshire puddings (x 3) oh dear, baby boiled potatoes in mint butter, carrots, peas and gravy. Jam and coconut sponge cake with custard, tea.

Tomorrow I will be bad because we have a medical rep coming in and bringing a chinese takeaway for lunch. She was in a few weeks ago and brought everything, curry, sweet & sour, black bean etc etc.

Rhoda, Im liking your way of doing things, dont try to diet, just exercise more. I now need to decide how to go about that. I would love to cycle to work but Im not confident enough to go out on the roads on a bike, its too dangerous. I'll have to really discipline myself to start something and stick to it.

I really dont want to think of this as a diet, like you say Rhoda then you just want to eat soooo much more. I want it to be a change of lifestyle...I did it before and just loved all the stuff I ate and I ate alot of stuff, but it was the right sort of foods. But then I started slipping and going back to my old ways. Got lazy. I think the secret for me is to have things ready, like I used to buy these low fat museli bars half covered in chocolate, they were delicious and so when I did crave chocolate I took one of them but I havent had them on hand this time, so I have just ate all the other chocolate and stuff that is lying in the cupboard for the kids. I need to get a bit more organised cause that really helps.

Once I get off the withdrawls then its much easier, its the first few weeks that are hard then I dont crave the stuff as much.

I remember once going to buy a coke for andrew to take to a party. I thought to myself that I should buy one for myself but this thought came to mind...No I would rather drink a glass of water. I nearly died on the spot in the supermarket...to think that I thought that!!! and I really meant it, I was over the coke and stuff (but then I slowly starting drinking it again and instead of it being a once a week treat, it started to be everyday and 2 or 3 times a day!!) So I just want to detox my body and then eat good stuff, cause I actully really enjoyed all the good healthy foods.

Well Rhoda you asked what I ended the week on - was going to say COKE!! hahahah No I knew what you meant...What was my weight this morning...well u will never believe it - it was 66,9kg!!! and I was so bad yesterday but heres my theory...I usually weigh myself at 6am - today it was 9am and so I think my body had a few more hours to burn a few calories..so be interesting to see what it is tomorrow at 6am!!

Yes Charlene you assumed right!!! and heres my first plan. Next Sunday (1st sunday in the month) you can travel free on the trains...so me and whoever wants to come along, is going to Copenhagen for a Subway. Leah is in, Kristian is in and I think Andrew too. Sara gets them all the time cause she goes to school in there. So roll on Sunday hahahaha

Otherwise it is sooo exspensive on the train. A return ticket would cost me about £12!!! and that would be just for me - it would be a very exspensive Subway if I was to take the whole family along! haha

Lunch - 4 ham sandwiches, pizza snail, 4 small meatballs, 2 slices of quiche...2 carmel sticks.ooops

Ive just had a bath and made a cup of tea but instead of taking something sweet with the tea Ive taken a banana. Why? Because when I was sitting in the bath getting washed I looked like a buddah around my stomach! Thats enough to put me off!!!

Ok lisa lets go for it again - tomorrow we have to fit in, somewhere 30 minutes of exercise and we cut back on what we eat...one helping at dinner (not 2 or 3 like I usually do!!)

Ok I am excited and ready to go for this!!!!! hahahaha

lisa said...

Ok, we need to go for it and stick to it! I will try to fit 30 mins in somewhere, I promise!

Rhoda said...

Ok girls I'll join you in the challenge, not of listing the foods I eat, but in doing 30 mins exercise:-) I'm going for 30mins blocks of good exercise this week!

Laura said...

Welcome Rhoda!!! hahaha now we really have to get a live aerobics session set up hahahahahaha

Rhoda said...

Sorry I've just read your food list again . . . "pizza snail"??????????????

Etta said...

Glad you picked up on that Rhoda... sounds disgusting Laura - explain?

You've spurred me on to do a bit more moving - I've parked further away than normal from the office today... well, it's a start!

(The word verification is exeribi - a mix of exercise and alibi?)

Pizza snails are snails on pizza slices - only joking!!1 haha Its diirectly translated and its just bread dough that you roll out, spread with pizza sauce and chopped ham, then you roll them up and cut them up in slices so they look like snails and bake them in the oven - kids love them and I had made a bunch for the kids in church.

Ah ha! I had wondered too but forgot to ask.

Sorry but I didnt get 30 mins of exercise today as I was at work until 5pm then home, dinner, kids, homework, dishes etc but I will tomorrow. And that is a definite promise because I got my cholesterol result today and it was 6.20! It should be 4 or under. And the LDL level (which is the bad cholesterol that gives us heart attacks and strokes) was 4.11 and it should be under 3! So a radical change is needed. Tomorrow. I promise :-)

And why tomorrow? Because there was the last mars bar in the fridge and I didnt have the willpower or desire to resist, so I just ate it!!! At least Im honest ha ha!!

And I forgot to weigh myself but I know Ive put weight on so maybe its better I didnt, two lots of bad news in one day is more than I need!

Rhoda said...

Well I did my exercise - an hour's brisk walking in the local park:-) Who said it couldn't be fun at the same time!

Lisa don't go by the scales go by your jeans:-) (Ok I know yours are a bit tight, but you can soon knock that into shape:-).

and here´s my confession. I didnt get to do my 30 minutes of exercise today either. Been at work, then my friend Jette dropped by with her son, when they went it was dinner time and then I had a meeting at church to rush to - then I have been home doing some accounts for the church....so I havent had a minute - but I have been good food wish - just read the next post!!! haha
