Everythings down :-(

Well it´s been a busy day.

Kristian started back to work (poor him) and I used the day to take down all the Christmas decorations. The house looks really bare without the tree and all the decorations around the window. No one wanted to help me take the decorations down!! I wonder why??

When I finally got everything down and the Christmas tree thrown out I spent the rest of the day cleaning. (Not the most exciting way to spend the last day of your holidays!) But I must say the house is all clean and organised and I feel so good about that, so I am ready to start work again tomorrow and the kids are ready for school.I am also ready for the greatest challenge for me in 2008 - to lose 10 kg!! Went to the supermarket just after dinner and stocked up on fruit and veg and healthy bread. So tomorrow I start my new eating plan (I will not call it a diet because then I crave food!!) Any good ideas on sticking to a healthy eating plan - please pass them on.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!
I wonder what lies ahead for us in 2008!I thought I would start this New Year with my very own blog journal. (I´m trying to keep up with the rest of you!)I was never very good at writing a journal, but maybe typing one will help, as I just love to type. Time will tell.

For those of you that don´t know me....I spent the first 21 years of my life living in Belfast - Northern Ireland. (And very happy years they were!) At the age of 7 I became a Christian. (It´s great to be in a relationship with God and know that He´s always there to care for me and help me, no matter what life may throw my way. I will just never understand His great love for me!! )

At the age of 21 I married Kristian - the man of my dreams!! From a child I knew exactly how the man of my dreams would be. Someone tall, dark haired, dark eyed. Someone Italian or Spanish looking. But I ended up with a tall, fair- haired, blue-eyed Scandinavian!!

Even though I got the looks totally wrong (but might I add that I am not complaining, I think my husband is very hunky!!) his personality is totally right. I always wanted someone loving, kind, patient, funny, someone with a great sense of humour, someone manly and strong and I got all that and more in Kristian. My dream of how marriage should be has been fulfilled. Kristian is my best friend and I am even more in love with him now than I was when we married almost 18 year ago. (Do you want me to get you a bucket so you can throw up??!!) I am so thankful for the great marriage that we have. After we were married in 1990 we moved to Denmark to live. We live in a small town north of Copenhagen. After 18 years of living here I can honestly say that Denmark feels like home.

We have 3 kids. Sara - 16yrs, Andrew - 14yrs, Leah - 10yrs. They are great kids, (but then I´m bias.) I think every parent thinks his or her own kids are great. But I must say these 3 have given us more joy and pleasures than they have heartache. (At least so far!)

So it´s now 2008 and I am wondering what this year will have in store for us as a family. I love the start of a new year. Time to start over and once again this year I am trying to start a healthy lifestyle and lose 10kg!!! (Although that was also my goal last January and I have only ended it being 3 kg heavier.)

My good friend, who is also called Laura, has been here all afternoon. We have been working on our healthy diet menu´s, our exercise plan and in the process we also gave ourselves facials and footbaths. Wonderful - can fully recommend it to all you ladies (and why not you men!). It´s a good way to start the year.

I am starting to feel the effects of being up so late last night - (I think I am really getting too old for New Year!) We spent the first part of the evening here at home having a nice dinner with the kids. Then at about 9.00pm we headed over to our neighbours house were some other friends were gathered. We had such a great evening together and at midnight the kids were outside firing of the fireworks, together with the men folk. What a wonderful sight it was, loads of fireworks. At one stage Leah and I ran home to see it all from our balcony, rather than from the road, the view was fantastic.

The Danes love to eat, so after the fireworks it was time for some hot stew. We finally left for home at around 3.00am. A good night was had by all!!Think I am going to turn on my new electric blanket!! (Some thing I have wished for for years. Finally got one this Christmas) Then I will head off to my warm bed with one of my good books and before long I will be in Neverland!!Happy New Year to you all.
