A daytrip out

Today the weather wasnt too good at our campsite so we decided to head out and explore the area. We found ourselves in Geneve - Switzerland. It was a really beautiful city. (Was hoping to bump into Phil Colins - he apparently lives in Geneve, but unfortunately we didnt get to see him!)

We then headed to an area south of Geneve, called Annecy. It was soooooo beautiful. We just could not get enough of the mountains! We had such a great day there and would love to go back another time and explore it more. I can totally recommend this area for a holiday!

Time to relax

Today was a beautiful day. After breakfast we all headed down to the lake to spend the day relaxing. (I off course had to have my coke zero with me!!)

Leah loves the water so she spent most of the day in there. From time to time Andrew joined her, otherwise he and Kristian spent the day sun worshipping - they were ashamed of their milkbottle coloured bodies!! haha

There was beautiful sunset this evening. Ah life is good!!

We arrived..

We were up around 9am this morning....a quick breakfast and then on the road again. Before us we had about 5 hours of driving.

Must say we enjoyed the beauty all around. Denmark is so flat so we were "ooohing" and "ahhing" at every hill and mountain we saw!

Finally we arrived at our campsite. Domaine de Chalain - on the banks of Lake de chalain. (Lac de Chalain).

And we were off....

The time was 2.30am Saturday morning. The car was finally packed, and we were finally ready to leave. Before us lay 1500km. Kristian had his coffee and he was ready for the long journey in front of him - in fact he was really looking forward to driving all those miles!!

The rest of the family slept.....

We stopped a few times so that Kristian could have a power nap too!

Finally just after lunch time we arrived at our hotel in Mannheim. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing before going out to explore the city.

Rejoice with me....

.....for I have found my cat that was lost!!

Yes, she came home early this morning. I got a phone call at work. The time was 6.30am and a very happy Leah was on the line. I know cats can wander and go off for days but our cat is an indoor cat, it has never been out of our apartment. Last night was a scary experience for her - poor wee thing. Kristian said she was really scared when they found her. Anyway now we can go away on holiday with a clear conscience.

Tomorrow our holidays start and we are off to France, although not all the family is going. Sara got a last minute opportunity to work next week. She decided she would rather do that than go on holiday with her old mum and dad.

She wants to go on a go-kart weekend at the end of the month in France but cant afford it at the minute, so working some extra hours will help her reach that goal. So so she is at home looking after work, the house and the cat. She will also have some company from different friends and cousins through out the week.....its a bit strange having a big daughter who is old enough to stay on her own.
Now for something else.

Monday 27th July we are having a Mamma Mia sing-a-long! Yipieeeee (I can hardly wait)

So here´s the plan. We have booked a wee (and I mean wee) cinema in Comber. We are to arrive between 7.30pm and 8pm. We have to dress up (a little or a lot - its up to you) and we will watch the Mamma Mia film, while we sing our hearts out to all the songs.
Renting the cinema is done by giving a donation. What do you think about each person giving 10 pounds for that?! Is anyone interested in going out for fish and chips before? or a burger or a subway? Please leave comments....tell me if you will meet up - also if you want to go out and eat before and where you think we could go. I was thinking that we could meet 5.30pm or 6pm - so girls (and guys) what do you think????

I am taking my computer on holiday but I dont know if we will have internet down there....but if there is you can be sure of an update!

The cat is gone.....

.....its true!

We had our neighbour up this evening for dinner. The cat was around us most of the evening. When the neighbour went home we went out unto the balcony to bring Shadow in - she loves to sit out there and relax. We have a bit of a wiry fence up so she cant get out. Well that didnt work well - cause she got out!

Kristian then thought he saw something down in the grass (the time was about 11.30pm) so he went down to see if it was her. It was a cat - a black cat, so it must have been her, but she took off. (I think she has had a taste of freedom!)

Its a wonder we all werent arrested....5 of us were crawling around on the grass in the dark, looking in our neighbours gardens, calling out for Shadow while banging her dinner dish. It was to no avail. She is gone:-(

I have a really sad daughter. Leah has cried her eyes out. We hope she turns up again tomorrow, and if someone finds her she has an ear mark - so they know who she belongs too.

Problem is now I cant sleep - its 00.18 and I have to get up at 5am!!! What a night its been. Worse thing is that we go off to France on Saturday!! Will she turn up before then??
