Memory Lane...

Last night Kristian was going through old files on his computer and he found a few old film clips that we had forgot about.

I thought I would upload this one of Leah - High School Musical was the big hit and she had made up a dance to one of the songs. It was taken only 2 years ago when we were on holiday looking after her cousins farm.

There is such a change in 2 years. Now she is becoming more of a teenager and the wee girl in this video clip is slowly disappearing. I enjoyed seeing this sooo much, it was nice to get to see my wee girl again....

Today I did something that I havent done in years - I went to visit a dentist!! I HATE dentists and it´s been 6 or 7 years (or maybe 8 or 9!!) since I have been for a visit. I know - stupid of me, but I have such awful teeth (all the more reason to go, I hear you say).

Well the problem for me was that I would go to the dentist for my check up without sore teeth, then I would come away with sore teeth because I always had to get something done. So a long time ago I decided that I would first go to them when I got SORE teeth. (I know, I know, stupidity at its best!)

Well, that time has come. While we were in France I started to get a sore tooth. Its not a constant pain, just like a nerve that gets hit from time to time.(YUK) So today I decided I would do something with it. I decided I would go and talk to a dentist and see if I could get a time to get a check up and estimate of what needs done.

Well you should have seen me! I was a nervous wreck. I got Kristian to come with me and when I got out of the car I stood and cried. We had to go a walk so I could get calmed down - and I was only going in to get a time for a check up!!! haha It seems really silly now.

I got a time - but they are going off on holiday so the first time I could get was 12th August. I have this deal with them that if the pain gets worse and I cant stand it I will find another dentist and cancel their appointment. But at the minute I am praying over my teeth so I can get through the next few weeks till my check up!! I am dreading going - I can already feel the pain and hear the drill!! (AHHHH!!!) Although I think the place that it is going to hurt the most is in my purse!!!

Now for something else....anybody around for a chat night tomorrow?? If you are, I will be on line to chat Friday 17th July at 8pm (english time) - and if you are you new to chat, just press on the blue button on the left hand side that says "Chat with me" and sign in. Hope you can make it!

Out is good - but home is best!

...and home we are again! We had a wonderful holiday in France. It was a good mixture of relaxing and getting out and about to see some of the country. The kids were just great to be with and we had a lot of good family time together.

The last few days of our holiday we spent just relaxing at the campsite although we did at one point leave the campsite and go for a walk up to the waterfalls that were near by.

Like I said - out is good but home is best and it was wonderful to come home again and see Sara.(and off course Shadow!)

Sara survived while we were gone (although she was a bit surprised to find out that she actually missed us!) She was working during the week and the two weekends that we were away she spent with friends. The first weekend she went to visit her cousin Christine and they invited Jack and Kasper over. They had a BBQ together without burning the meat!! (or burning the house down!)

Christine came home to stayed with Sara one of the weekends. Her mum and dad were also away on holiday and she was staying at home to work too. (what dedicated young people we have! haha )

They also went off to one of the local amusement parks, along with Jack, Kasper and another friend. They had a great day out.

Looking through all Saras photos it looks like she had a good time at home. The house was even clean and tidy when we came home!

Although she enjoyed being home there was one thing she didnt enjoy sooo much...that was the frozen food she ate. (well it wasnt frozen when she ate it! haha) Sara is like me - she hates to cook and is not interested in it. I had stocked the freezer up with frozen foods like pizza, chicken nuggets, stir fries, chinese rolls etc. so she could just stick things in the oven. She had lived on that stuff (and pasta) while we were gone. So when we came home, I made a lovely home cooked meal for us all and boy did I get lots of praise and thanks for that delicious meal.

So since coming home I have done nothing constructive. My plans were to come home and unpack, do washing, and get all tidied up - ah what a laugh, I have done none of it!

Today Sara and I had a girls day out. We went out shopping. Sara is leaving, on Tuesday, for France for 2 weeks holiday.

All her hard work has paid off and she has saved enough to be able to go on this trip. She will spend the time at go-kart races, the one week at one race then travelling on to another race. She is soooo happy that everything has worked out. So today we went out bargin hunting to get her some shorts and t-shirts. She got a few tops and a pair of shorts and at Primark prices! (there were so many sales with 70% off things!) So I had a happy girl. It was really nice to be out with her today, we had a great afternoon together. Thanks Sara!!

Good weather at last

Today the good weather finally arrived!

We spent the day down at the lake (yet again!!) It was just so hot, so being down there was great, the cool breeze was welcoming.

Andrew and Kristian decided to hire a couple of canoes and go out sailing. Leah swam around in between their canoes. I lay on the beach reading. I love this life!!

Think we just got a little too much sun today - we are all a bit red this evening!!

Go-karting

The last time we were here Sara found a go-kart racing track, so this time Leah, Andrew and Kristian wanted to go and try it out. I was more than willing to tag along because I had my book with me!! (above picture - dont they look funny! the nets are put on before taking on the helmets)

Leah finally got to try kart racing and she thought it was fun BUT not sooo much fun that she wanted to take it up as a hobby! (Yipieeee!) She would rather stick to horses!

The Alpes

Once again the weather wasnt to be good, so the kids suggested that we headed out again.

Our travels took us this time to the Alpes.

It was an amazing trip. Words can not describe the beauty....we were in awe!! (What a great God we have!!)

We started off in Lausanne and then travelled further south. We ended in a wee town called Chamonix. Beautiful! It was another wonderful day. We came home really late!

Wednesday, 8 July 2009

Today we decided just to stay at the campsite again. Leah and Andrew wanted to spend the day at the lake and Kristian and I love it down there, so we had no objections!
The weather was cloudy so when the sun came out it was really warm, but when it disappeared behind a cloud it turned cold - so I dont know how many times we changed clothes today!

Leah just loves the water - she is constantly in it no matter what the weather is like - hot or cold!

Each evening after dinner we have been going down to the lake - Leah takes her evening dip - I dont know how she does it, it is not warm at that time of the evening!! But we have had some lovely evenings down there and we have seen some wonderful sunsets.

When its too dark to be outside anymore we sit around playing uno.
