No more snow!!!!

Well I think my title at the top of this post tells you exactly how I feel. Why are we having this cold snowy winter???? The climate is now doing exactly what its suppose to be doing at this time of year and I am not so happy about that!

I was starting to enjoy those gray days of 5 or 6 degrees with a bit of rain now and then. (It felt like home.) Life just gets that bit more complicated with snow - dont you think?!! Ah well, I should stop my complaining!! On a more positive note, its wonderful to have a warm home, and a bed with an electric blanket!!

Below is just a wee clip of the snow (be warned - its not very exciting at all! Sorry!)

Welcome to India

I have had some busy days. Friday I got home from work and just had time to pack the car with duvets, pillows, shoes, hats , gloves, a few changes of clothes and a basket filled with Sunday School material and crafts. We were off on our church weekend.

We had a wonderful Friday evening. The meeting room was transformed into a cafe. A three man band played soft jazz while people sat and talked and enjoyed cake and coffee. There was a Puppet Show for the kids introducing what we would be teaching that weekend. There was some fun with a game and then the evening ended with a devotion and prayer time.

The theme of the weekend was prayer, but we also had another theme on Saturday evening - India.

Everyone was told to bring some sort of Indian clothes, or if they couldnt get their hands on that to wear something bright. Annelee (our ministers wife) and me had been to Ikea and got lots of wonderful things to decorate the dining room with. One guy from the church had just come back from India so he had also lots of Indian thing with him. The place looked fantastic!! (I forgot to take pictures, I was so busy decorating!) Everyone really got into the theme and came dressed up. Two couples in our church knew how to make Indian food and they put on the most delicious spread of food.
It really was a great weekend.
Today after work I met up with my friend Rhoda. It was soooo good to see her again. We went for hot chocolate. I gave into temptation and had warm apple tart and cream. Thanks Rhoda for a nice few hours of chit chat.
Then this evening Kristian and I went to hear a well known Danish comedian. It wasnt one of his shows but a meeting where he shared about his life and how he got started in the show business. He was really funny. Half way through he sang (Opera) he was fantastic! He also ended the evening by playing a few tunes on his harmonica - sometimes using his nose to play, and once again he sounded fantastic. It was over by 8.30pm so on the way home we sneaked into McDonalds and got ourselves a Strawberry milkshake to end our date!! haha Its been a lovely evening out. The tickets for the evening were given to us as a Christmas present from one of Kristians good friends.

What a week!!

So far this week has just zoomed by!! Its been all go and not much time for blogging. We are going on a church weekend and I have the kids programme plus a bit of the entertaining on Friday and Saturday evening. I`m sure I will be well and truly "used" when I come home on Sunday!!! but even though I know that its going to be a crazy weekend, I am really looking forward to it!

Even though its been busy there has still been time for fun:-)

On Tuesday at work we were up to no good. We in the Clean Team love our cheeses. We buy all sorts of mild and strong cheeses. Well we were down to the last piece of our really strong cheese. It was really smelly, but it tasted great. There was hardly any cheese left, not enough to get a slice from, so we were about to throw it out when I got an idea!

You see even though there wasnt much cheese left, the little piece that was left was stinking!! I thought it would be fun to tape it under our Vice Principals desk. (Give him something to smell!) My boss thought it was a brilliant idea, so off we went with tape and cheese! I waited until the Vice Principal went to Assembly and then I sneaked into his office and taped the cheese under his desk.

Later my colleague went in to talk to him. He (the vice principal) was walking around smelling the air. He then asked my colleague if he smelt something odd. He explained that he had checked his bin but there was nothing rotten in there. He had even checked his shoes to make sure he didnt have smelly feet. Hilarious!!

The cheese was gone the next day - but he has not mentioned anything. Might put the next piece of smelly cheese under his desk again, just to see how long we can get away with hiding cheeses under his desk! hahaha

Strange strangers......

Saturday night in Denmark. The house was quiet. Kristian had gone to a "thank you dinner" for the officals of the Copenhagen Historic Grand Prix. The kids were all doing their own thing in their rooms and I was lying on the sofa reading. The door bell rang and I went to see who it was. There before me was this wonderful sight.......

This strange stranger was standing outside my door trying desperately to get in and give me a hug!! It was my crazy friend Anne!! haha (We had arranged that she would pop by for a wee cuppa tea, but I had not expected the new look!) We had a fun evening together, chatting and laughing and off course we just had to try our some new wigs!! haha.....

Kristian came home around 11pm and so he had a few laughs with us too. Finally at 1am we got this strange person kicked out of the house!! Thanks Anne for a great evening.

Soren has had many years experience as a leader, and is now going to put all that experience to good use by helping to train other leaders. His business is a leadership consultancy and he already has customers knocking on his door!!

Today he offically opened his business with a reception. A lot of important business people were invited along with family and friends. Well done Soren!! We wish you all the best in this new adventure:-)

Chocolate galore....

There was chocolate galore at our school today. It was hot drinking chocolate!!

The kids were having a treat. A new period was added to the timetable for today. An hour for different classes to show what they have been doing in school over the last few month. If any have been doing a special project they could show it here. Some of the older classes showed video films that they themselves had made in their media workshop . The idea is that this will take place 4 times a year.

Well while all this was going on, we in the Clean Team were busy warming 85 litres of chocolate milk!!! I have never had soooo many pots going at the one time and with soooo much chocolate milk in them!

The kids really enjoyed it though. They carefully lined up while we poured the hot chocolate for them. Four hundred kids drank hot chocolate until they could drink no more!! There was not a drop left - pretty amazing!!! haha

I was at a meeting tonight to arrange the last details of our church weekend. Its going to be fun!! So looking forward to getting away (its first next weekend). There are still a 101 things to do before it all and I wont have a minute of peace while on the weekend...but hey, thats the fun of it all!!
