Andrews sweet 16!!

Yesterday (5th August) was Andrews 16th birthday. He had a really great day - well at least that is what he has been telling us!

I also started work yesterday, and even though on Tuesday evening I was not in the mood to go to work. It was actually really good being back.

So I got out off work a few hours earlier and arrived home to get everything ready. Andrew had invited two of his good friends, Thomas and David. They were coming for ice cream, cake etc.

He got lots of nice presents and money. We had a very happy boy.

Granny and Granddad Rasmussen also came for cake. We had a really nice time altogether.

The boys were off to race go-karts. Then it was home for pizza, a movie, popcorn, crisps and sweets.

Yes it sure was a good birthday, quiet, cosy but really nice!!

Looks like much fun was had by all. Not too sure about the girly wrapping paper though Laura.

Sometimes the cosy birthday parties are the best. Would the word Hygge be appropriate here?

Oh to be 16 again (my mind still is there, the message hasn't filtered through to the body!) Andrew looks like he had a great time, especially with his friends go-carting. Happy Birthday Andrew enjoy the rest of your teenage years, they are fabulous.

I must say, he looks older than 16, must be because he is so tall! And what a great hat! You were lucky to get a 16 year old boy to sit with a funny hat on - he must get that from his mum ha ha!!!

Yes Pauline the word Hygge is appropriate. How do you know that?

Thanks Charlene - I tell him that all the time too! Oh to be 16 again!! I am the same as you, my mind still thinks its a teenager, it just hasnt filtered through to the body!! haha good one, I like that.

Isnt the hat good. Funny cause he found it and said "Mum, I´m going to be like you and wear this silly hat" It was also because he needs his hair cut. Kristian usually cuts it but didnt have time the night before his birthday...so Andrew was having a crisis cause he was having a bad hair day haha

"We had a very happy boy."

Well if that's a happy boy, what in the world would an unhappy boy look like???:-)He didn't really look happy until he was in the kart:-)

Shadow seemed to be enjoying the show!

I was watching a programme a couple of weeks ago and the bloke was from Denmark. He said they have a word in Danish which you can't translate into English. He said it's when you are with your family or friends and having a really cosy time. I thought that's what Laura is always saying. I can speak Danish now!!!

yes thats right pauline - hyggeligt is when you are having a cosy, great time together with family and friends...and thats what we had. It sure was hyggeligt.

Yeah your right Rhoda, he doesnt look to happy in the pictures but he really was, the first picture he has just blown the candles out,so his lips were just going back to normal shape! haha

Hey Pauline you are bilingual! I can speak Czech you know? You just put a 'ski' on the end of the words! When we were in Prague this was a standing joke ie would you like a drinkski? Then one day in the hotel we were waiting on a taxi & the manager came out to the foyer. I was sunburnt and he said to me 'oh dear you got burnski' We nearly wet ourselves laughing because it had been the joke of the holiday, and Donna said that we had been fluent the whole time and didnt even know! The poor manager thought we were mad because he didnt know what we were laughing at!
