A week ago since my last post......

....I have been a bit quiet for a while!! I cant believe its a week ago since my last post. Where has the week gone?

It has, once again, been all go - although I havent been doing anything that exciting that I could write about. You know the usual - work, washing, cleaning, shopping, and packed lunches again!

Oh, one exciting thing did happen - Andrew got himself a job. Its at my work doing a bit of cleaning. He works Tuesday and Friday afternoons for a few hours after he is finished school. It is great that he has got this. He really seems to enjoy it. (I have gone home by the time he arrives so he doesnt have to see his old mum about the place!) He also just loves his new school, he has great teachers and the change seems to have given him new confidence. Its just great to see!

I nearly went a bit mad at the weekend and bought myself a "new" car! haha (I was feeling a bit sorry for myself always having to bike and take trains while hubby ALWAYS has the car!)

On Saturday Kristian and I were out shopping and we walked past this car dealer. There we saw this wee Renault Twingo - it was going at a cheap price and the car dealer was doing a good deal for monthly payments. (We could see all this on the information hanging inside the car!) Unfortunately most car dealers over here are closed on a Saturday but open on a Sunday. So after church on Sunday we decided to go by and check it out (imagine doing that and after church too!)

When we got there the sales guy came out and I told him I was interested in the wee Twingo. (It was from 1994 - hence the cheap price!) to which he replied "Oh I have just sold it to this gentleman here" and pointed to the man across the way.

Ah well, it just wasnt meant to be!! He tried to sell us another car but it was out of our price range and I hadnt fallen in love with it the way I had with the twingo!! haha

So now I´ve given up the dream about the car (actually dont mind biking about that much) and I am dreaming about a house instead! haha

Isnt it just so cute! A bit like the place snow white stayed with the 7 dwarfs!! haha

The best thing is that it has a 44 sq metre out house that Kristian could use for his go-karts, me for painting, and we could make a guest room out there for anybody who wants to come and stay...but I better not get too carried away - I really dont think we can afford it, even though it is going cheap and it is only 5 km away from where we live now! But one can always dream!! that at least is free!!

Love is all around....

So LOVE is the big theme in this house at the minute...haha

The other day at work I was listening to some teaching about Gods love for us. It did my heart good!! It really is amazing how much God loves us! So many times I forget. Oh in my head I know that He loves me, but sometimes I can forget it in my heart. I want and need a revelation about Gods love! I dont just want to know that He loves me in my head, but to KNOW it in my inner most being. To KNOW that He loves me no matter what happens. To know that He loves me when life is going good and to know that He loves me when life is really hard and full of problems.

There is nothing I can do to make Him love me more, there is nothing I can do to make Him love me less. HE LOVES ME with all my faults and failures.

When things go against us what is the first thing Satan whispers in our ears "Well doesnt God love you? Doesnt God care?" and if I am not grounded in Gods love I can listen to Satans lies and begin to believe that God doesnt really care.

Are you like me sometimes? Do you need to be reminded that God loves you? Do you need a revelation of it so that you KNOW, that you KNOW, that you KNOW - no matter what happens God Loves YOU! If you do need a revelation get out your Bible and search for verses about Gods love. Read Psalm 139 - isnt it wonderful? God KNOWs you and me and even more than that - HE LOVES YOU!! HE LOVES ME!!

Today I listened to this song over and over again. I just love the words. I found a video that some guy made to go along with the song. Have a listen if you want....

My daugthers a dark horse...

...yes, Sara is a dark horse. On Sunday afternoon she told us that her and Alessio were an item, a couple, were going out, - whatever way you want to put it. I was really surprised. I honestly didnt suspect a thing!!! (and I am usually quick to notice things like that!)

If you follow this blog you will know that Alessio already won my heart way back at the start of the week. He is a lovely, well mannered guy and very cute!! haha

Anyway now he has gone back to Belgium and they dont know when they will see each other again. Poor them! I can feel a bit of dejavu coming on here!! (a 20 year old dejavu!) haha

Saturday at last

Its been a long, hard week! After Saras birthday party we were all exhausted. The first few days of the week were also really busy, plus we had the two boys visiting. So it has been all go.

All the kids started back at school this week.

Leah started back at the local school last Monday. She enjoyed seeing all her friends again and hearing about their summer. Next week she is off to camp with the school. They are travelling to another part of Denmark to visit the highest mountain in Denmark...."Heaven Mountain" which is 147 metres above sea level - more like a big hill!! They are staying in small cottages in a complex that has swimming pools, trampolines, sports hall etc. She is so looking forward to it and has had her bags packed from last Wednesday!

Andrew started his new school last Tuesday. He is together with 3 of his good friends so he was pretty relaxed about starting. He is in 10th grade and will only be at the school a year, then he has to decide what he wants to do after that. Its great that he has this extra year to think about what further education he wants to take.

Sara started her new school in Copenhagen. She is doing a business course in sales and marketing. She has a bit of a train journey in, but she doesnt mind. She has got into a special class for people who play sports. The school takes this into consideration and allows time for training and competitions etc.

There are 20 boys and 8 girls in her class, all of whom play sports at a more serious level. She is together with her good friend Jacob, who also races go-kart. She really thinks she is going to like this class. She is together with people who really take their sport seriously, so hopefully they will take their education more seriously too.

Now to embrass Sara a little :-) At her birthday party I held a speech for her. I shared with people how she was as a toddler and then to Sara surprise had a small video clip to back up what I said. When she was small she loved to dance and sing. Kristian and I always had to sit and watch and listen to her and it was not always an easy task,.....as you see below!!

Crazy couple of days.....

...it sure has been a crazy couple of days.

On Monday Andrew wanted to go shopping. He had birthday money that he wanted to spend on new clothes for starting his new school. So when I was finished work I came home and got him and we had a good few hours out shopping. He got himself some really nice clothes and a pair of new shoes - at almost primark prices!! I had a happy (handsome)boy!

It was then time for a quick dinner, a tidy up of the house before going into the airport to collect two of Sara´s go-kart friends. One is from Italy and the other from Belgium, although the one from Belgium speaks fluent italian as his dad is from Italy.
They are really nice fellas. Their english is ok, but we have to speak very slowly or else they cant understand us. We have had some laughs with them and at times have had to use a bit of acting and sign language to get across what we wanted to say!

One funny story....Kristian has been away on a course with work. He first came home Tuesday afternoon, but the boys came on Monday evening so he had not met them yet. I arranged with the boys that when we were all sitting eating dinner thatI would pretend to speak Italian to them. They would re-act like they understood what I said and they would answer me.

So when we sat down to dinner on Tuesday evening I pretended to say something in Italian to the boys. I tried to make it sound as Italian as possible. I pointed at the food and talked away, and they nodded their heads and answered me, then I answered them back in my pretend Italian again, and they smiled and nodded their heads. They did a brilliant job making it look like we were really having a conversation in Italian.

Well the funny thing was Kristians face - he looked at me in total amazement. I turned to him and said, "Oh yeah, they have been teaching me Italian all afternoon" and thats when the penny dropped and he knew I was having him on. We all had a good laugh about that.

Sara and Christines 18th

...Last night we held Saras 18th Birthday together with her cousin Christine. Sara is first 18 in September and Christine is 18 in a couple of weeks but they both wanted to hold their birthday party together. Last night was the only weekend that they both were free.
We had a fantastic night. Family and friends were gathered together to celebrate. We chatted, laughed and ate. Signe (Kristians sister) started the night off by singing a beautiful birthday song to them both. She also made a wonderful slide show of pictures telling all about their lives.
Leah sang a song to them both - you can hear a bit of it on the video below.

After the main course us parents held short speeches for our girls. Christines was in the form of a song that we all could sing along too. I had made a speech using some old video clips of Sara when she was small...really cute, funny clips. (might put them on here sometime)

Just before dessert we had a special visit - check it out.

After dessert we got the party going with a special song....

Then people just had a good time sitting around talking, while others, like Anne and me just danced and fooled around.

Sara enjoyed her party soooo much. She stayed with her cousin last night and when we got home she sent me an sms saying "Thanks for a great party, it was 100 times better than I had expected" So glad they enjoyed the evening, because I certainly did!

Andrews sweet 16!!

Yesterday (5th August) was Andrews 16th birthday. He had a really great day - well at least that is what he has been telling us!

I also started work yesterday, and even though on Tuesday evening I was not in the mood to go to work. It was actually really good being back.

So I got out off work a few hours earlier and arrived home to get everything ready. Andrew had invited two of his good friends, Thomas and David. They were coming for ice cream, cake etc.

He got lots of nice presents and money. We had a very happy boy.

Granny and Granddad Rasmussen also came for cake. We had a really nice time altogether.

The boys were off to race go-karts. Then it was home for pizza, a movie, popcorn, crisps and sweets.

Yes it sure was a good birthday, quiet, cosy but really nice!!

Memories.....

This weekend has been filled with memories!!

I got out all our old video tapes and found a way to play them unto the computer so I can burn them unto DVD´s. Our video tapes are old and well used and they wont last forever - bit like myself!!

So having discovered how to put them on the computer, (all by myself, who needs a man!!) I have been watching old clips of the kids. I´ve just been having a great time going down memory lane, and guess what? Now you get a chance to go down memory lane with me (but only if you want too!)

The clip below is a bit funny - its my good old mum and me. Mum hated boats, Kim (brother-in-law) wanted to show us a boat that he goes out sailing in. My mum went on first. She was so awkward and scared that we laughed so much. Then it was my turn - I thought I could handle a boat no problem!! Well, it was awful, you could feel the boat rock with every move - horrible feeling! Well why not have a look for yourself....

Then I found this cute clip of Andrew - oh how it did my heart good to see my wee tiny boy again! How can a wee thing like that grow to be taller than me - and in such a short time! Its just not to understand!!
