And relax....

I think today has been the first day that Kristian and I have come home from work and done absolutely nothing on the house.  We sat down this evening and just relaxed! We haven´t done that in nearly 2 months and it felt wonderful.

After work today my friend Anette from church came by. We had to plan our Christmas musical. Every year we have a musical for the children at church. We  meet at the church on a Friday afternoon and spend the weekend practising for our big performance on Sunday morning. The children have a weekend to learn songs,  practise dances, learn lines and paint scenery. We always have a great weekend together and I am really looking forward to this one at the start of December. Should be fun!

So the rest of my evening has been spent on here, going down memory lane. When I started this blog way back in 2008 it was mainly to keep a journal of the things we had been up to as a family. A sort of diary, only online as I  love to type. Now after all this time I am sooo glad that I have a record. Many of the things I read about tonight I probably would never remember.

I don´t think I would remember that in October 2008 I went to see Mamma Mia (the film) for the 6th time. We got our cat too and I shared some funny stories about life with her, which I had totally forgotten about. I also wrote a few songs back then too. I took a baking fit and baked some cakes, which didn`t turn out all that good. In 2009 we had family fun night at Annes, a clear out of the apartment and a Ladies night out...In October 2010 I locked my car keys in the car, saw the film "Fried Green Tomatoes " for the first time and went to a Jimmy Nedham concert.

It sure has been fun reading old storeis and looking at old photos.

I sure am glad I started this blog. A place to record everyday life and stories that so easily can be forgotten.

Now I am so relaxed that I can hardly keep my eyes open. It´s off to dreamland for me. Goodnight

I love....

....weekends!

It was a short week for me at work. I only had a 4 day week as I arrived back here in Denmark late Monday evening. after a great few days with dad. As usual the time in Ireland went by too quickly.

Even though I had only 4 days to work, I was longing for the weekend:-)

So our weekend started with a wonderful long lie in! I woke at 9.30am, which is just wonderful when I normally get up at 6am! It was a beautiful morning and so Kristian and I decided that before getting breakfast, or even getting ready for the day, that we would go a walk down the lane to see the sheep.

This is the kind of nature that is surrounding us. You go out the front door, walk about 5 metres to the lane, turn right and walk about 20 metres and you arrive here  Beautiful:-)
 It was cold but sunny.

Things at the house are slowly coming together. Today we got a few more boxes emptied. We still have a load of boxes in the garage to empty, yet everything we need is now in the house, so some serious clearing out needs to be done!

The kitchen is more or less finished. I still need to get my curtain made. Maybe tomorrow I will make a start on it.....mmmhhh let´s see:-)

On Wedenseday at work I saw this wonderful piece of art lying out the back beside the bins. (see below) I went in and asked my boss who it belonged to. He said it was no ones, it was being thrown out! I asked if I coud have it - YES! So now I have a unquie piece of art in my dining area! (Yes it is a tree!)

It is not totally finished yet. The idea is that we will mount it on another piece of wood so the branches actually touch the ceiling, so it looks like it is going through the ceiling. I need to clean off some more of the bark and then clean it up. I hope to put lights on it and move the cabinet a little over to give it more room. In the end I think it will look really cool! I really love it, I think it is just so beautiful. (Kristian just shook his head when he saw it and heard of my idea. He really is a gem letting me be so crazy.)

This is our bathroom. We haven´t done too much to it. We did take  those awful cupboards away that were there. We cleaned it up and bought a new shower curtain and mat. I actually like it. It´s big and roomie and also lovely and warm!

'
So that´s about all there is to tell about the house at the minute.

Other breaking news is that Andrew did his driving test on Wednesday and failed:-( Oh he was so disappointed. My heart went out to him. He passed his theory a few weeks back so he was really hoping he would pass his practical driving first time round. Unfortunately he didn´t. It is sooo expensive to take your test here. We thought it cost 800kr (about 80 pounds) but it turns out it costs 1500kr (about 150 pounds!) It is total robbery! Anyway a new date has been set and he hopes that he will do better this time and not be as nervous. He wants to hear the words "passed" and not "failed" next time around:-)

Our day....

Our day today started with a walk around the corner to the local cafe for a fry!

 The Fry was delicious....

It was then home again to relax for a while. Andrew enjoyed being on the computer...
Dad was feeling good today so we decided to go a little walk into town.
We got to shop and take photos. Dad got some lovely shots of the City. I got to hang out with a few friends:-) It really was a lovely afternoon.

Then this evening my cousin Lorraine dropped by. It was so lovely to catch up with her and hear some really funny stories. Thanks for the laugh Lorraine.

A new shop, an "old" friend....

This afternoon Andrew and I went to town. As we dandered along by the Fountain centre I decided to go in and check out a shop that I have passed by a few times without ever going in. I just got through the door of the shop when I bumped into an "old" friend - Etta.

It was so lovely to see her again. We stood and chatted for a few minutes and then decided we would go get a hot chocolate. We both didn´t have much time but a half an hour over a delicious hot chocolate was just wonderful! It was really great to see her in person again. (Thanks Etta for the chocolate and chat - I really enjoyed catching up again!) (Notice again that I forgot to get  a photo and I had my camera in my bag - aarrrghhhhh! :-)

While we were away catching up with each other Andrew went to Primark to see if he could find any bargins. He didn´t find anything he liked but he did end up getting a hair cut for just £9! Now that was a bargin compared to Danish prices! He looks well and is really pleased with his new hair cut.

Dad was at the hospital this morning. We both were up early and at the hospital for 8.30am! He got platelets again and by 10am the platelets were all finished. We thought we would soon be heading home, however they then decided to give dad a top up of blood too.  So a unit of blood had to be ordered. This mean´t he would be in the hospital a little while longer.  He got his blood and is now feeling really good having got platelets and blood. Lets hope he  has a great weekend without any nose bleeds.

The nurses in the hospital are really fantastic. They are so caring and helful, they really do a fantastic job!

This evening we have all been soooo lazy. We have sat and watched TV and films. I couldn´t stay awake long enough to see the end of the film. I fell asleep on the sofa. Now I think it´s time for me to get myself off to bed.

It´s been a lovely day once again:-)

Miracles can happen......

.....today we experienced a miracle.

Dad woke this morning with a nose bleed. Not good! So he plugged his nose with tissue paper like he always does. He sat on the chair with his head back and waited.

Two hours later and his nose was still dripping blood. The plugs of tissue were soaked in blood in no time. Ummmh I was getting worried, I knew we would need to ring the hospital soon. Dad however really didn´t want to ring the hospital. He knew they would send him to the Royal and he probably would be kept in for a few days. (He has been in hospital so much over the last few months because of nose bleeds.) This was the last thing he wanted.

I got an idea. Dad listens to a man called Andrew Wommack on the God channel and has really been blessed by his teaching. So I suggested we ring his ministry and get them to pray for his nose bleed. That´s what we did. At first we couldn´t get through, all the operators were busy but we could leave our name and number and they would get back to us.

Within 10 minutes a lovely lady rang us back. She heard what dads problem was and encouraged him and then she prayed the most wonderful prayer of faith. She spoke to his nose bleed and commanded it to stop bleeding in Jesus name.  We said goodbye and hung up the phone. Dad then took the old plug out of his nose, it had been in a while and was soaked in blood. He stuck up a new plug and let it sit a while, he then took it down and there was hardly any blood on it. He stuck a new one up again and let it sit a while again. Next time he took it down nothing was there. A miracle:-) His nose had stopped bleeding. There has been no sign of blood since late morning.

That meant we were able to go and visit Gillian (my sister-in-law) like we had planned. Late afternoon we headed down to see her and the kids.

Gillian and I got time to chat and catch up.

We had time to sit and relax and see some TV. I am now hooked on Emmerdale! haha

We had a lovely evening with them. Now we are home at dads again and about to head to bed. It´s been a lovely day.

Guess where we are?

We are back in Ireland!  This time it is Andrew and me visiting dad. (We had enough of the mess at home and decided to leave Kristian and Leah with it!:-)

We arrived this afternoon along with a load of rain! Nothing new! We will leave again Monday. It´s only a short visit this time but its great seeing dad again.

So shortly after arriving at dads, the two men in my life were hungry, so we headed out to KFC! They both really enjoyed the feast:-) Must admit I did too:-)

While we are here Kristian and Leah are at home packing out the last things and trying to get cleared up a bit. Last night Kristian got the lights put up in the kitchen as well as a few finishing touches that needed done.

I LOVE my kitchen, I have actually enjoyed cooking the last few nights! Now that is amazing! I think it´s because I feel like I am in Ikea and I always enjoy being in Ikea! haha

We are missing a couple of bar stoles and a few pictures for the wall.
And below is our bedroom/my office. It´s wonderful to actually have a real bedroom! Still needing to get some pictures on the wall and a wee side table beside the bed. (Although I do miss my hand painted wooden mural that I had in the old apartment. Kristian has warned me I am NOT to paint anything on the walls of the new bedroom!haha  I´m not promising anything - let´s see what happens, white can be so boring after a while and I need colour in my life!!haha  But I actally do LOVE our bedroom too:-)

The end....

...or is it really only the beginning??!!

Today we finally got finished with our apartment at number 5! It felt so good to be able to turn the key and lock the door knowing the place was empty and clean and that we didn´t need to pack down anymore boxes!

So now it´s the beginning of our new life in number 27! Time to unpack the last boxes and get organised here. We still have such a peace about moving here. We have never doubted that we were doing the right thing. This place really does feel like home! When I think of home, I think of here and not the old apartment. Now it´s time to fill it with many happy events and memories! Let the memory making begin!

And we did start some memory making today! We had our first "offical" guests (and I totally forgot to take pictres!!! how stupid can one be!!!) Jette and her two children came to brunch this morning. I made the usual bacon, eggs, cocktail sausages etc. It was delicious. Jette only stayed a couple of hours  as she knew we needed to get to our old place to finish off. But the couple of hours we had together was so cosy. It was great to see her and the children again!

The afternoon was spent at the old place finishing off. Then this evening we got a little spontaneous and invited our friend Laura over for dinner. She also happens to be our neighbour, how convenient is that!  However she only saw my text message after she had made her own dinner, but that didn't stop her. She arrived on the door step with her own plate of food, just as we were about to sit down and eat ours. She joined us and we had a really cosy time together. (Arrghhhh - once again I forgot to take photos!)

All in all a productive and good day

Back again....

Back again in the land of Blog! I haven´t been on here much over the last few weeks,  that is basically due to exhaustion! haha Working full time and then getting things organised in two homes has taken its toll on me! I now realise I am not as young as I think I am! haha

Our days have been packed full. All of our things are now here in the new place. We have emptied loads of boxes but there are still loads of boxes needing to be emptied. We have just too much stuff! Thank goodness we now have a big garage to store everything in.

The keys to our old apartment will be handed in on Monday so we have spent the last few days cleaning it all up. I don´t think it has ever been this clean!

We lived for 14½ years in that apartment and we made many happy memories there. It´s strange not to call it home anymore but we are also so excited about our new home. I just know we will make many more happy memories there. Once again a new chapter is beginning in our lives!

Kristian has worked so hard on our kitchen. It is nearly finished. At long last we have an oven again and the dishwasher is up and running. I am so proud of my wee hubby. He has achieved so much and most of it he did alone. Thank goodness for YouTube, anything he didn´t know he looked up there!

I still need to sew the curtains for the window in the kitchen.....uummhh that might take me a while, sewing is not my favourite activity!

We also have a few lamps to get up and a few panels to put on to finish it all off, but all in all I think it´s looking good. I love it:-)

So in the middle of this moving other things have been happening.....

Andrew is learning to drive and last Friday he passed his theory in driving, this means he can now do his practical test. He can´t wait to have his licence. If all goes well he should have it by the end of the month. I really hope he gets it, an extra taxi driver will always come in handy especially now that we are living out in the country.

Sara loves living in Aarhus. She has started her new job and loves it. She is working in a shoe shop/coffee shop. It is a shop that has just recently opened so she is helping to get it off the ground. At the moment she has a sore throat because of some sort of virus. She will come home to visit us at the start of November. We can´t wait to see her again and to also show her the new place.

It is now Autumn break which means Leah, Andrew and I have free for the week! Just what we need! Kristian was able to get a few days off too, so he will have off Monday and Tuesday. This means we can get a few more things organised here in the new place.
