I need help

Tomorrow is my 18th wedding anniversary and I am so unprepared!!

Usually I have a few surprises up my sleeve, but this time I am blank! I haven´t even bought a card!! So I need help, serious help!!I have given you all my crazy romantic ideas here on the blog, is there anyone in cyberworld who can throw a few ideas my way??? I will have a few hours tomorrow afternoon to organise something. I get home from work at 3pm, so between 3 and 5 I can work on something - but what? (Kristian will probably be home around 5)

Tomorrow Krisitan also starts his new job. He´s a little nervous, but he´s also so looking forward to starting. I am just so thankful that he has got this job. It´s been a hard few months, mostly on him, but we have really tried to trust God and praise Him through it all. God still had control of the situation.

I am doing this study on the names of God. It is sooo good. Names in Bible time meant something. It would tell you something about the persons nature and character. The names of God can tell us something about Him. I started with the name ELOHIM - God, Mighty Creator, and I got this sense of wonder at God´s creative power! What a God who made such a beautiful world.

But what really spoke to me was the next few names that I studied....EL ROI, The God who see´s me - El SHADDI, God Almighty - YAHWEH YIREH, The Lord will provide. Those last three really spoke to me, maybe because of the situation we were in with Kristian.

El roi, the God who see´s me, - isn´t this just wonderful. No matter what happens, what situation we are in God see´s. I am not out of his watchful eye, even when I feel alone, when I feel He´s not there, He is there! He see´s me!! (I am learning not to live after my feelings.) I might "feel" that I am alone, that God is not there, but I shouldn´t go on these feelings. I need to go on what God´s word says, and it tells me that God see´s me and He has promised NEVER to leave me.

El Shaddi - Almighty God, He can do anything and He can help me in the situation that I am in because He´s mighty. Nothing is impossible for Him. AMEN - How I need to be reminded of this - often!! So many times I know this truth in my head, but I really need to know it in my heart. My God CAN do anything!!

Yahweh Yireh - He´s my provider. He has promised to give me everything I need. So why worry about tomorrow, why worry about the situation you´re in. God will provide!! Isn´t it good to know that God see´s us, know´s what we are going through and He is mighty and powerful enough to be able to change our situation and He can provide everything we need. (Not just material things, but peace and joy in the middle of a crisis!) AMEN

OK I am going to stop.....sometimes I get a bit carried away!! I hope that these names maybe can speak to you like they did to me.Remember to get back to me with idea´s - PLEASE!

Check out this song - great words and I love the melody too....

Hide and seek

I know what I said, but sometimes we all say things that we don´t mean.....like the time I said I was finished giving you all romantic advice...I´m sure you can guess what is coming! Yes, yet another idea for you unromantic people in cyberworld to try.

Lets go back a few days...It was Thursday. I was meant to bike home from work but just couldn´t be bothered, so I rang my wonderful, considerate husband and asked him to come and get me in the car.

After a bit of begging, no I correct that, after a lot off begging, he gave in and said he would meet me. I stop work at 2.15pm and at 2.10pm my phone rang. It was Kristian. He was late leaving home so it would be another 15 minutes before he got to my work. That´s when I had the idea.

Beside my school there is a forest and beautiful park leading up to beautiful gardens, a lake and a castle. We used to live opposite these, so we know the area pretty well. So I told Kristian that I would go and hide in the park and that he should try and find me. After a bit of begging, yet again, he agreed. So I left school on a mission, however on the way out from school I meet so many people and talked for so long that the 15 minutes I had to find a hiding place were up.

I rang Kristian to tell him so. He was already in the park looking for me....so I told him that he should hide and I would try and find him.It was hilarious!

The first place I thought he would hide was in our "tree house" a special tree we have in that park, so I went there, but no he wasn´t there. I then rang him to tell him that I was standing with the tree house at my back and was going to take the path to the right that led down to the lake. He should tell me if I was hot or cold. I was getting hot!! So I continued. When I got to another landmark, I called him again. This time I decided to go straight ahead down a hill, he said I was getting hotter.....and so it continued until I found him sitting on a park bench at the other side of the lake. It actually was really good fun.

We had a good laugh about it.(Now if Kristian had been any way romantic he would have thought of this idea himself, he would have packed a picnic basket, called me at work and told me to find him in the garden, then when I found him we could have had a romantic picnic down by the lake. Ah well I should be thankful that he was game enough to hide in the park.)

Funny thing is - after we decided to play this Kristian hid behind a tree in the park, until he realised people going by started quickening their pace and were looking strangely at him. He was unshaven, wearing a sweatshirt with a hood, and sunglasses. He just looked a little bit suspisous and dangerous.

Now it´s Saturday, late evening and we have had a lovely weekend. I spent Friday evening painting as well as the rest of today. It has been soooo relaxing. At one point I popped out in the afternoon to drive Leah over to her friend Mia. She is spending the night there. Mia´s mum and I are really good friends so a quick drive to drop Leah off turned into a 2½ hour visit. Kristian thought I had got lost!!

This evening there is only Kristian, Andrew and me at home. Sara is at a go-kart race. Even though she is not racing herself, she is supporting her good friend Winnie.

Kristian and Andrew are watching an action film, which I really am not interested in seeing. But they are having a great time. It´s so strange when there is only 1 child at home, but also rather cosy having them one at a time.

In the picture below you can see some of my paintings. The big one in the middle I painted last night. You can check out the other paintings, if you want by going to
www.laurasartgallery.blogspot.com
Below is one of the paintings I did today. It´s from the Giants Causeway, with Andrew looking out over the water. It was taken from a photo we took in the summer while home.

I probably wont get to paint much for a while. Kristian starts back to work so I´m without my housekeeper. I honestly haven´t cleaned or washed clothes in a long, long time. It´s been nice having free time to do things like painting. Ah well, it was nice (for me) while it lasted! Back to reality on Monday!!

He caved in!

Ok - so Kristian got a new job, (as you all know) so I thought we should celebrate! And what better way than a trip to the cinema to see....yes, you guessed it MAMMA MIA!!!

Kristian has refused to go and see this film with me, but tonight he caved in. I blinked my eyes at him, give him my cutest smile, told him how much I loved him and he was like puddy in my hand! haha

So after dinner we headed off to the cinema. (Because we have a certain telephone company, we get to take a friend free, to the cinema, on a Tuesday - pretty good eh! so 2 for the price of 1!)

Well what can I say, it was a fantastic experience - yet again!! Kristian wasn´t quite as enthusiastic as me, although at one time I felt his leg bopping up and down to the rhythm and I saw him trying to hide his hand as it drummed out the beat to dancing queen!

After the film he walked, and I floated down to my wee french café were we ended the night with a hot chocolate topped with loads of whipped cream - yummie!! We toasted in his new job and then headed home, in time to get Leah to bed and then to help Sara with her English homework.

It´s been another good day.

A whole new me

Today was a special day. Our really good friends, Jette and Filip were having their wee son blessed at church today, so we were off to their church, instead of our own. It was a lovely service, and their wee son - Jonatan is just sooo cute.
The music was also fantastic. (Jette´s brothers are soooo musical, one plays guitar, the other piano - brilliantly! Filip plays the drums, so they all lead the worship at church. Kristian was dying to get up there and blow his sax with them!) After the service there was coffee and tea and the most delicious cakes. It was good to meet a lot of people that I knew from my time in CEF. A really nice Sunday morning....

Then this afternoon Kristian got himself a whole new wife! My friend is training to be a hairdresser and she needed a model - I like a fool offered my lovely head of hair for her to experiment with. Well, I have never, sat sooo long in the one stool!!

I have always fancied long hair but never really had the patiences to let it grow...but my friend could work magic, or so she said!! She had to practice putting on hair exstensions, and I was game, plus she wanted to practise colouring hair, so she added another colour to my hair....I look very different and I am really not sure that I like it. My head feels soooo funny, tight, weird. The kids hate the new look and Kristian just laughs when he looks at me!

So judge for yourselves - what do you think girls??? (You can be honest!)

It´s raining man!

Now it´s our turn... The rain has hit Denmark!!

We awoke this morning to such a downpour of rain. It was so cosy lying in bed listening to the rain outside, knowing that I didn´t have to get up for work. How I love Saturdays!!Kristian and Sara were up at 5.00am - Kristian said a quick goodbye and I rolled over again and fell asleep. They were going to a go-kart race. (You have to really love the sport to get up at that hour on a Saturday!) They had to be there by 7am.

Since Kristian and Sara were gone all day, Leah and I decided to have a girls day out. (Andrew was going out with his friend.) So Leah and I headed out on our bikes to the station to take the train to the next town.

Leah has a birthday soon, so we were just window shopping to see what sort of things she wished for her birthday. It was really cosy (especially cause it was raining!) I just love the rain and shopping!!

On the way home we happened to pass the cinema, guess what they were showing? Mamma Mia!! So we popped in and caught the afternoon show. When Leah and I finally arrived home, we were like two drowned rats!! It rained soooo hard on the way home, so we headed straight from our bikes into the shower. I then did something that I don´t do soooo often - I baked a cake!!!

I had been talking to Kristian through out the day, just to hear how the race was going. It was going really well. Sara, apparently, has a gift for driving in the rain - (gets it from the irish genes!) She drove sooo well and the cart didn´t play up - (well only once...but the problem was quickly solved.) So she ended the race in 2nd place! Because she came in 2nd and also because they had been out in the rain all day I decided to bake their favourite cake.

Here is Sara getting her gloves taped so the rain wont get in.

She came 2nd - her friend Patrick came in 1st (he´s the one in the middle) They didn´t get to stand on the podium as it was raining soooo hard, so they got their prizes inside. She was bit disappointed as she had been soooo looking forward to climbing up there.
Then I spent the evening painting. I decided to try a bit of modern art. I had got inspired today as I walked pass an art gallery, the paintings were terrible and they were asking £100 for some of them. I thought I could do better, so I tried. I quickly found out that modern art is not my gift, my painting was just as bad as those I saw today!! haha
Around 9 pm the other half of my family arrived home after a long, hard day in the rain. But they were happy - a victory for Sara! After they had a shower, we settled down to hot chocolate with whipped cream and the cake that I baked. It actually tasted ok - not as good as my mother-in-laws, but a close 2nd. (Looks like we all came in 2nd today!!haha)

The Rasmussen Family

.... so after having revealed my innermost crazy thoughts to cyber world, (see yesterdays post) I thought I better make a more sensible post today. I am not all crazy - believe me, I can be sensible from time to time, really, I can!!

So it´s been a while since you heard something about my family. What have they been up to?

Well Leah and Andrew have started back to school - already 1 week has gone.

It´s Andrew´s last year at school (-that is one fact my brain has a hard time understanding!! haha ) He likes school, so he is quite happy and content going off in the mornings. The same can be said of Leah. We are lucky to have children who enjoy their school. (makes life easy for us parents.)

Sara started college last week. She was excited about starting. Already after the first day she came home sooo happy for the class she is in. She thinks it will be a good group. She meet a guy in the class who used to go to our church.. They haven´t seen each other in years, but he recongised Sara. They got talking and Sara found out that he is a Christian. Nice for her that there is another Christian in her class. So she is also enjoying school. She also got herself an after school job in an exspensive shoe shop (one shop I wont be buying anything in!) . She will work Tuesdays and Thursdays - 3 hours each time. She was sooo pleased to get the job. She went for an interview and was asked all sorts of tough questions.....so she was all chuffed with herself that she got it.

Kristian is now offically unemployed!! (Not something he is very happy about!) but he is hanging in there. He has a possible job lined up, however he would have to work 4 days in Sweden and 1 day in Copenhagen. (he´s ok with that, it would take just under 1 hour to drive to the office in Sweden.) He has a week to think things through before he has to give them his answer. He is waiting to see what happens as he has another job interview this Friday in another company. This is his second interview there and this company is only 20 minutes drive from home. On Monday he has another interview for a job in Copenhagen....so hopefully within the next week we will have some good news to post about his job situation.

As for me I am happily working away in the school. Tonight I was out with my friend Genny (and I didn´t go see Mamma Mia, even though I was tempted.) We went out eating instead. Genny moved to Dubai a year ago, but is back in Denmark for a holiday. It was sooo good to see her again and to catch up with her life in Dubai.....thanks Genny for a great evening. We went to our favourite restaurant - The Mexican - it´s cheap but sooo good. Now I am so stuffed - why do I eat sooo much when at a buffet?!! I never learn!

Why isn´t life a musical!!

Mamma Mia here I go again.......and again....and again!! Third time in to see the film "Mamma Mia". I just LOVE that film!!! (you would never have guessed eh?!) The music is fantastic, the scenery....WOW!! and it´s really funny too.

I think I like it so much because it reminds me of my youth. As a teenager, my crazy friends and I always had a song for every occassion - a bit like in Mamma Mia! (right Charlene!)

A film about friendship, and love. (My kinda film!) It´s just one of those films were you come out of the cinema feeling great - totally on a high!!

Tonight I went with my girl friends from work, Dorthe and Lene, as well as my crazy friend Anne, who I used to work with. They had heard me rave on about it so we just had to arrange a girls night out.

Tonight the cinema was packed and what an atmosphere. When the last two songs started, people were singing and clapping along... it was great fun!

Needless to say when Anne and I get together things get a little crazy, and we did, as usual end up laughing until we were crying. We ended the evening in a wee "french" café, (french name, french style, french music, - really cosy) were we had ourselves some hot chocolate with LOADS of whipped cream. (Think I´ve just put on 2kgs!!!) A really great evening!

If you haven´t seen Mamma Mia go see it - but only if you like ABBA music!!

Sorry no photo´s this time - forgot the camera.....but what about a clip from the movie!!

Don´t you just love the style!!

Just thought of an idea for my 40th! I could hold a big Mamma Mia party...everyone would have to dress just like the girls in the film clip....and ABBA would play all night long!! haha that would be a laugh! (don´t think you would enjoy that Lorraine - if I remember right you were NOT the biggest ABBA fan!)

Date night for November and December

You´ll be glad to hear, it´s the last 2 date nights!! So get yourself a wee cup of tea and sit down and enjoy!

November:

Winter is upon us again. Time to lock ourselves away in our wee homes and enjoy their warmth and cosiness. Here´s Novembers idea - idea number 11....

Why not buy your partner a wonderful collection of bubble baths. When he returns from work have a bubbly hot bath ready. Remember to light candles around the bathroom. Let him unwind from a long hard day at work . Let him soak in the bath while you cook dinner. After dinner, have your partner put his feet up while you put the kids to bed and clear up. After this light some candles, sit down together and enjoy the peace and quiet of the home.

Another idea is to take out some of your old records and tapes that you used to listen to as teenagers, or when you first got married. Enjoy listening to some songs that you long ago had forgotten about. If you don´t have these old records etc, don´t worry, just turn on the computer and go to www.youtube.com type in whatever song you want, ít´s bond to be there with a video along with it. Listening to these will bring back precious memories

December:

For many December is a busy month. In the midst of all the busyness remember your date night. After buying the Christmas tree and decorating it, you will need a date night.

Put the kids to bed early, then settle down for a truly wonderful evening.(You may need to re-arrange your furniture for this date.)
Things you need: Blanket - Picnic basket - Food of choice - Christmas music - Ginger Ale (or drink of choice.)

Send your partner to the petrol station for something that is needed, e.g. a carton of milk.

While he is out, you will transform the living room into a picnic winter wonderland. Push back the sofa and arrange the blanket on the floor, just in front of the Christmas tree. Open the picnic basket and arrange the food so it looks attractive. Turn out the lights except for the Christmas tree lights.

Light a few candles here and there around the room. Play the Christmas music. When your partner comes home your living will have been transformed into a cosy winter wonderland. Enjoy an evening in front of the tree, eating, drinking and dreaming.

Talk about your dreams for the coming year. Enjoy being together. End the evening by playing a special song for your partner that you have picked out before hand. This should be a song that tells him how much you love him and how special he is. Ask him to dance, and end this wonderful evening slow dancing to your special song.

(If you are really stuck for a song check out youtube, maybe you can use one of these - Gordon Haskell - How Wonderful You Are, or Baby face - Two Occasion.
There is always good old Lionel Richie, who has a stack of romantic songs!!)

Finally to end these postings of "Romantic ideas" I want to dedicate a song to the man in my life, cause no matter how crazy I get, he is always there loving me.....this one´s for you Kristian! (Lets keep making memories!)

Date night for August

August with its summer evenings - makes one want to go to the beach and watch the sun go down. That’s exactly what you can do for this months date night.

Why not pack a blanket – a few tins of coke and call into the local Subway and buy the Sandwich of you choice. I highly recommend the Subway Melt – (turkey, ham, chesses, bacon, lettuce, tomato, green peppers, onion, chilli peppers, pickles, and olives, finished off with a generous helping of BBQ sauce and slat and pepper – DELICIOUS!!!!) Then drive to your local beach. Throw the blanket down and sit and enjoy your subway sandwich while watching the sun go down.

If your feeling adventurous you could also go for a romantic walk along the waters edge, letting the water ripple over your toes, rinsing away the wear and tear of the day.

For those of you that are REALLY, REALLY adventurous why not skinny-dip together!!?? If you are up for this idea remember your towel and also where you left your clothes!! ( Charlene I am soooooo looking forward to hear how this date idea goes for you!!! hahaha I am already in fits thinking about all the things that could go wrong for you both!! hahaha - keep us posted!)

You are going to love this one - Junes date

June has arrived and hopefully with it lots of sunshine and warm days. For your date evening you once again shall leave home – so get the kids looked after. If this is not possible don’t despair – you can always use your imagination and have a wonderful date night at home!!! (Now Charlene even you can´t muck this one up!!)
If going out:- Drive to a park where they have a lake. Treat yourselves to an ice cream and take a walk around the lake enjoying the scenery. Talk about whatever is on your hearts. Then comes the fun part…you and your partner will go BLOOPING.
What is blooping I hear you ask…well let me explain.Find 3 small stones ( NOT for throwing at the police!!)
Position your partner so that his back is at the lake and his face facing you. Your partner must close his eyes. Explain to your partner that you will throw the stones in the water one at a time. You can kiss until you hear the stone go BLOOP on the water – then you must stop.
Throw the first stone – kiss – “bloop” – stop kissing.
Throw the second stone – kiss –" bloop” – stop kissing.
Throw the third stone, but this time instead of throwing the stone into the lake you throw it far behind you, into the bushes. This means you never hear the stone go “bloop” on the water and so you never need to stop kissing.
WARNING: This date can seriously injure your lips!!
If unable to get babysitters and you need to stay at home: Have one of you go to the local petrol station and buy an ice cream. Fill a bath with water. (If you don´t have a bath, fill the sink.) Follow the same procedure as above, the only difference being that you will be blooping at the side of a bath and not a lake.
Use your imagination, take some plants into the bathroom – fill it with every plant from the other rooms of your house. You now will have created your very own little park and lake. Open the window and let some night breeze come through. It will be as good as the real thing. Follow the instructions for blooping – only indoors!!
Be careful when indoors and throwing stones, especially the last stone. You don’t want to throw it through a window or break some ornament,(Charlene!!) so we recommend you just throw the last stone into your pocket.

date night for April and May

Ok people, you need to work with me here!! I am getting some negative comments from people on my romantic ideas.(things like how the idea might not work with their men!!) You are seeing the glass half empty and not half full. I know our men folk are a challenge (believe me I know - I´m married to Kristian don´t forget!!) ...but we just need to stay positive and not already see the problems before they happen.

We need to wake up every day and think "How can I make my partner happy today?" "What wee thing can I do to bring a smile to his face!"

Think back with me for a moment, to the time when you first met. How did you feel? (Go on you can tell me, say it loud, it will do you good to get it out!) Exactly! - you wanted to bring joy to them, you wanted to make surprises for them - you wanted them to know they were special to you. We have to keep this going in our marriages, no matter how long we have been married, no matter how many kids we have! So with this ladies (or men as the case may be) I bring to you date idea number 4 and 5 - April and May. Enjoy!

A simple idea for the month of April.

With the month of April comes April showers. Why not have a romantic walk in the rain. Cuddle up together under an umbrella and enjoy a walk around the area were you live.

(My neighbours now think I am a nutter - here I am standing out in the rain posing and just as they all arrive home from work! talk about bad timing!)
I personally prefer to walk without an umbrella and come home soaked to dry off in front of the fire with a warm cup of soup!

May´s idea takes a little bit of planning.

May is such a BEAUTIFUL month. This month you will surprise you partner with a letter. This letter will contain an invitation to go on a date. It will tell your partner that she/he needs to be ready to be picked at a certain time.
No other details will be contained in the letter. The letter will arrive on the day that the date is to be held.

An hour or so before you need to pick up your date go and get ready yourself. Then leave the house (remember you are married and living under the same roof – you leaving the house and coming back will make this date seem more authentic.)
Use the time to go buy a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates for your date. At the appropriate time arrive to pick up your partner. DO NOT WALK STRAIGHT INTO YOUR HOUSE – RING THE DOOR BELL!! When your partner answers give her/him the flowers or chocolate. Compliment them on how well they look. Now the evening can begin.

In the car you will have prepared 3 envelopes. In each envelope you will have the name of a restaurant. Let your partner open each envelope and see the 3 choices. He or she will then pick the restaurant that they would like to eat in that evening.
Remember to compliment your date through out the evening. Your aim is to make her (him) feel like they are the most precious, wonderful, loved person in the world.

While at the restaurant take out another envelope. In this envelope you will have 3 slips of paper.

For example:On the 1st slip of paper you could have written: “A FILM NIGHT” with a clip from the local newspaper showing all the films showing in the cinema that evening.

On the 2nd slip of paper you could have written: “NIGHT AT THE ICE BOWL”. This means going ice skating or 10 pin bowling.

On the 3rd slip of paper you could have written: “NATURE NIGHT” This means going for a walk on the beach, or in the forest, or around a lake etc.

Give the 3 slips of paper to your date and let them decide which one they would like to do.These are only suggestions – you know your partner best, so decide 3 things that he or she would find fun to do and write these on the slips of paper.

End the evening by driving the most scenic route home.

This is one of my idea´s that Kristian actually enjoyed!! An alternative to this is to make it a whole day thing. If you have a wedding anniversary this is a good idea. It takes a little more planning but it is well worth it.

You, behind your partners back arrange a day off work for them, (tell their boss to keep it a secret) - then in the morning when they get up to get ready for work you have, in the bathroom, a note that tells them that you love them and that you have hidden a little surprise under their pillow and that they need to go and get it NOW.

Under their pillow you have hidden a home made "gift" card that gives them the day off work to spend with you.

Then tell them they can go back to bed and sleep a while but need to be ready for you to pick them up at 10am. Meanwhile you get the kids out, go pick up a subway, some diet cokes and some nice desserts for a picnic.

At 10 am pick up your partner and drive to the coast. Spend the morning there and have your picnic on the beach. Then just follow the date idea for May from here - only give the envelope with the 3 slips of paper first, so you can go see a film etc in the afternoon, and then the "dinner envelopes" at the end of the afternoon. If you want to be really good to your partner then arrange for them to have the next day free from work as well, just to be at home and relax.)

Friday nights gonna be alright..

Does anyone remember that song? " Friday night´s gonna be alright,.... yes it´s gonna be alright now baby...." (I think it´s from Fame).

Well my Friday night has certainly been alright!!

This week has been a killer! Starting back to work has not been easy after having 4 weeks holiday, especially since I met at 6.00 am all week long. (The things you do to get home from work a few hours earlier.) So I have looked forward to Friday night since Monday morning!!

Kristian and Sara left early this morning to travel to Jytland for a go-kart race (really hope it goes well for them.) They are away until Sunday night. There is only Andrew, Leah and me at home. So what have we been up to this Friday evening? - something that the Danes call "hygge tid" - a really cosy time. Leah and I have stuffed our faces with sweets, crisps, and chocolate while we watched a film, curled up on my bed. Really cosy and relaxing...just what mummy needed. (Andrew was playing a game with his friends over the internet.)T

Thought I would take a break tonight from the "Lets make a date mate" postings, but the date idea´s will be returning very soon along with a few invites to some weddings! Keep your eyes clued to the blog, you never know what will turn up here within the next few days!!

Now I am going to head into bed, snuggle down with one of my good books and just enjoy the blessings of having a bed to sleep in, a duvet to warm me (since my other body warmer is gone for the weekend! haha) and a roof over my head.Yes, this Friday night certainly did turn out alright...

Date idea for January

(Ok I know it´s not January, but I wanted to start at the start, so bear with me....)

January – a month that’s cold, miserable and dreary!! A month when we are all broke!! So our date night has to be something interesting but CHEAP!! Here is an idea….

Idea 1: Things to have: - Candles, Writing paper, pens, bottle of wine (or in my case –cola), favourite sweets/chocolate.Tonight’s date is to be cosy. Through the date you want to share your inner most thoughts and dreams with your partner.Start the evening by lighting the fire (if available) and candles. Pour each other a glass of wine or chilled cola and arrange the sweets and chocolate in a bowl close at hand.

Fetch your duvet and cuddle up on the sofa together to enjoy your sweets and drink. Just go with the flow!!

Now it’s time to go down memory lane. Dig deep into your mind and heart. Think back to the first time you saw each other. Talk about what attracted you the most about your partner. Was it her eyes, his smile?? Was it his laugh??

Think back to the early days - what made you fall in love with each other?? Then take your pens and paper. Write a letter to your partner, telling him/her five things that you like about them. Think about the little things. Maybe it’s the way they take the rubbish out for you. Think deep…it may take a while to find 5 things, but trust me…if there’s a will there’s a way!!You can start your letter by saying “…(name of person) …I am so glad to be married to you because…” and then list the 5 things.

When you have finished, give the letter to your partner and enjoy the closeness of sharing each other’s deepest thoughts and feelings.
Now that´s a good way to spend a cold, winters night!!

Lets make a date mate!

When I get bored I get up to all sorts of crazy things...

For example, a few years ago I made this "book" with idea´s on how to keep romance alive in one´s marriage. I really made it as a joke to give to some friends, (do you remember it Sharon & Jeff?) however all the idea´s in the "book" I actually tried on my husband. (I know I am a sad person!) You will now realise what a patient man I am married to! But I really do believe that keeping romance alive is one of the secrets to a happy marriage.

What are we like??!! hahaha

Anyway tonight I was restless and bored, (the house was all tidy, washing up to date, kids had friends over and Kristian had gone to his mum´s to get her old bike for Sara to use.) So what could I do? Well I went into our computer to tidy it up a bit (when I don´t need to tidy the house I tidy the computer!!) Low and behold I found this file with my "book" in it. (forgot about that!) So I thought I would share these idea´s on my blog, who know´s maybe one of you reading this needs to put a little romance back into your marriage. (Girls you might want to let those un-romantic men read some of these ideas.) So here come´s the intro.....
LETS MAKE A DATE MATE
(Intro)

With the pressure and busyness of life it is so easy to forget to keep the flame of passion, the flame of love alive in ones marriage.I hope that theses next posts will be a help to you and your partner. I hope that it will inspire you both to re-kindle the flame that burned so brightly, burned so passionately in the days when you first met.
Never forget ROMANCE. It is the very essence of our souls!!! We need to remember to kindle the flame of romance!! Never, I say NEVER let it die.
One way to keep the flame of romance burning is to arrange date evenings. These can be once a week or once a month, as suggested in this "book." So without further ado – go get your calendar…YES NOW!! Sit together, just you and your partner, and plot in the evenings that will be your date evenings.Don’t let anything – I repeat – ANYTHING! come between you and your partners date night!!
Now all that is left is to read the ideas on the following posts or make your own ideas. Enjoy fully the coming months together as you live a life of Love – Romance and Passion!!
(Now check back tomorrow night for - Date Night Idea Number 1 - there is one for each month!!)
