Ikea show room NOW open

...yes, the Ikea show room, based in my living room, is now open!! haha The only thing not from Ikea is the pillows on the sofa!! haha So heres the finished project:-) It has been soooo much fun, shopping and organising it all.

I love having a desk. Although I havent had to much time to sit at it, I know I am going to spend many happy hours there. Only a few cupboards left to clear out and organise. Where do we get all the stuff???!!! I have cleared out and thrown out so many bags of stuff today and it was only in October that I last did that. We just love to gather stuff, but now theres a bit more space again, at least for another few weeks!!

For those who want to see the house via video just click below:

You charging Ikea for the free advertising:-)

Looks great.

BTW we had those lamps too, in our bed room, but David decided we needed taller lamps - he'd seen something on an interior decorating programme and it showed how using bigger lamps has an amazing difference in the room. They were right! Anyway if only we'd known they would not have had to go to the local charity shop, we could have sent them to you:-)

I don't know Laura, you have some competition with my house for the Ikea show home.

It's looks gorgeous, you have a really cosy wee home there.

Thanks - glad you like my wee home!! but then you cant really say anything else can you!!! hahaha otherwise I might ban you from my blog!! hahaha

Is it the lamps on the speakers that you had Rhoda. We have had them for ages and I am actually a bit tired of them, but I havent found any that I like so they will stay for the time being. The light from them used to annoy me, it was cosy but not bright enough so I went and got new bulbs, and they are really nice now - must have spent like 1 hour reading about all the different lighting and watts and E14 or E27 bulbs etc. The bulbs are so blooming dear that I was afraid of buying the wrong one and wasting 6 or 7 pounds!! I am really into big lamps at the moment. Nearly bought a enormous one at Ikea but just knew Kristian wouldnt like it and I was afraid it would be too big. You know an idea Ikea should do, they could make lifesize cut outs of their products at a cheap price, then you could buy a cut out and take it home and try it in the room! I think I should apply for a job at Ikea!! hahaha Anyway I am now going on Easter holiday!!! So looking forward to relaxing over the next few days, it has been a hectic but fun week!

Thats a great idea about taking home a cut out and trying it out yourself! You should take it to Ikea, imagine that, you advising Ikea on business ideas!!

I love the big BIG lightshade they have, the white paper flower globe one that is enormous, did you see it. I couldn't buy it though, I would get thrown out along with it lol!!

Yes I saw that one. Kristians sister has one like that in her home, its not from ikea but from some exspensive designer place. I think you need the right kind of house to go along with that, like a HUGE living room or dining room. It acutally looks ok in Kristians sisters house as they have a big living room. Yes I think I will go to ikea with that idea!! Kristian has been encouraging me to go and apply for a job with them, they do interior designing courses and you get to work with them at the end, I would love to do that too!!

Well done Laura, your home looks beautiful!

What a good idea - the cardboard cut out one - sometimes I wonder if I had a cardboard cut out of Philip would I notice the difference, but of course I would, the cardboard cut out would fall over now and again!
