Sara is 17!!

Can you believe it? My daughter is 17!! In one year she can drive a car!!

Sara had a good birthday. Winnie and Rasmus were here all weekend. We woke early Sunday morning to presents and a cooked breakfast - yummie!! Then they all headed out to the go-kart track, Krisitan went with them.

Granny Rasmussen had baked Sara´s favourite cake for her to take to the go-kart track and share with her friends. They so enjoyed the day there.

Meanwhile at home we had a relaxing morning.

We didnt go to church, but had a quiet morning at home instead. (Kristian had the car so getting to church would have been, first by bike, then train and then a bus!) So instead I was able to play a little piano, read a little and just have a bit of peace and quiet.

Leah went to visit her friend, who lives around the corner. Andrew was at home being cosy too. I spent the afternoon painting. I was trying to do something a bit different - this is what I ended up with. (see below) It was a bit hard drawing vases from my head! Not sure I got the shadows right, but I had so much fun doing it.

Finally Kristian and Sara arrived home and we had dinner together. Having a Sunday like that really gets me ready for another busy week. God knew what he was doing when he said we needed a day of rest.

Just think if you lived in Norn Iron she could be driving now!!! And if she follows her mother's example she'll meet the man she's going to marry 3 years from now - how scary is that?!
So tell me how early is early for the birthday get up? Poor wee Leah looks like she would rather still be fast asleep!
Did you manage to get the rest of Sara's present that you left in the shop?
Glad you had a good day of rest - it sure does set you up for the week.

PS Sara is so like you!

PS 2 to my eye the vases look great!

PS 3 did you notice the patchwork on the seatee with David playing the violin? That's my artistic part! I can sew and do a wee bit of patchwork!!!!

Pauline I know your b/day is Oct but what date?

Aw thanks Lisa. It's on Friday!!! We might even have a night out. We have a babysitter on standby, but she hasn't been sleeping that well in the first part of the night, so we might not get out. We'll see how she goes. We think she's teething again!!!!

Is yours the 7th?

Wow!!! As I posted the 7th I then thought it was the 9th. Oh well. October used to be a lot busier for me, lots of friends, but I've stopped sending cards now. Too many in my family to remember let alone friends too.

Well Lisa, I was two days late and supposed to be born on 1st October!!!! A friend of mine's birthday is around the 25th Sept, he was told he was a Christmas baby. It is just too distressing to think about.

Remember being 17 Laura? I remember it really well - I think you better keep a tight leash on Sara if she's anything like her Mother! She'll be snogging every male in sight! Ha ha.
