Lazy days!

Friday evening was spent in front of the TV. X-factor is back!! So the whole family gathered around to see it. Our neice Christine came to visit, and then two of Saras friends, Jack and Kasper came by. So the house was pretty full! We did soooo enjoy watching X-factor, its getting pretty exciting!

(Sara and her cousin Christine - taken Summer 2008)

Today we were up early. I needed, once again, to do some food shopping. Then Kristian and I headed out to the next town to have a look around. He needed some oil (or something like that) for the go-kart and I went along for the ride.

The plan was that as soon as we came home we would get stuck into cleaning the house. (Get ready for the start of a new week!) Well that didnt happen! Kristian and I were both in a lazy mood ...so we fooled around all afternoon and did everything else but clean. Finally at 4pm we decided to get going....but it was VERY SLOWLY!! We were more into watching music DVDs.

Kristian decided to clear up our DVDs. He put on one of his music DVDs by Earth, Wind and Fire so we could listen (and look at now and then) while clearing up. However we spent most of the time dancing around the living room, instead of cleaning up! haha (Was not a pretty sight - but it sure was fun!) So now at 11pm we still have a messy bathroom, hallway and office!! But we did get all the DVDs sorted, the books and magazines sorted and Leahs wardrobe which, believe me, was a mess!!! So all in all we did get something done, even though it took us 7 hours to do it! haha

(If we had put our minds and bodies to it we probably could have had the whole house cleaned in an hour or two!)

So as you can read, I have nothing very exciting to report. The snow is falling outside and I am so thankful to be inside in the heat. It has been a lazy, fun day (especially since Kristian and I were both in a crazy, annoying, in a fun way, mood!) We got to do things just at our leisure. But I think we all need those sort of days after a busy week.

Want to check out the contestants for our X-factor? Below is a song that the finalist have made. It is made for charity. The money from the song goes to help people in Afghanistan. (At least I think its Afghanistan. Must check it out!) But I think the song is really well produced. I love this version of it - (so we have already bought our copy of it for 80p!! )

That's the kind of day I had too! I mean a lazy one! It took me about 3 hours to hoover the house (a 20 min job!), because I took a notion of checking my credit card statement - and then of course I had to blog it!
Then at 9.45pm (yes you read that right) we sat down to dinner, and as often happens a friend arrived at the door - honestly I think he smells our food!

Know exactly what you mean. Thats what we did too...checked the blog, cleaned a bit, watched a bit of the DVD, cleaned a bit...looked at magazines, cleaned a bit, checked the blogs....cleaned..checked the blogs...cleaned! haha

All the time I kept saying "Ok Kristian we will get going, lets give ourselves 2 hours - then we can sit down and enjoy relaxing with a clean, tidy house around us!" Never happened though.

Did someone pop in at 9.45PM????!!!! That would NEVER happen over here - not sooooo late....people dont even ring to each other over here after 9.30pm

We ate late too last night but it was 8.15pm. Just got a couple of pizza´s. Andrew was eating at his friends and Sara was at her aunts and we had a token to get a free pizza, we would only have to pay for one...so we thought it would be a cheap dinner for Kristian, leah and me! (and it was delicious!!)

David gets mad that it happens here! Well it doesn't really - it's only this one person, indeed he is the only person who ever just drops in, Scottish people don't do that, and what I have to listen to before I open the door, and afterwards!!!!!!!

I have been cleaning the kitchen for the last 5 hours!! That makes it sound like it was really stinking - it wasnt too bad but we're getting work done to it on Tuesday & Im working tomorrow so it had to be done today. We're getting the worktops changed so I took everything out of the lower cupboards and scrubbed them, cleaned all the doors top & bottom, cleaned the cooker, all the tiles, washed the walls down and cleaned the tops of the cupboards and washed the floor! Phew! Im knackered!! Our top cupboards are only on one side of the kitchen and we've no cooker hood over the cooker so the fitter's putting cupboards right round and taking out he old freestanding cooker and putting in a cooker hood and a built-in oven and hob. We're totally skint so mum has given us the majority of the money, otherwise it wouldnt be done! And of course I will put photos on when its finished!!

Hopefully it wont take too long - the longest part will probably be Ronnie painting the kitchen when its finished! The guy is getting the cupboards on Tues morning, he said it might be Wed before the top ones are done, we get the cooker (hopefully) on Wed and it should be ready for painting on Thurs, But you know what they say about best laid plans.............
