Golden oldies

Songs have a funny way of bringing back the past. No matter what I may be doing, if a golden oldie comes on the radio I can become 17 or 18 again! Well my friend Charlene had a post on her blog about old hymns that we use to sing in church. It sure brought back memories.

I then remembered a song that we sang in our wee group. (Did we have a name for our group?) Does anyone remember singing it or hearing us sing it? I remember singing it at a GB thing. It was all the GB´s in our district and we stood at the front and sang it....(how did we have the nerve!!) Well have a listen to it and see if anyone remembers it!!

Yes, yes, yes! I remember it so well! Remember we used to repeat give them all really quickly and then sing aaaaaaaaallllllllllll. ha ha what were we like?

Don't you think Candy looks like Pamela Ewing from Dallas? Now there's a blast from the past.(as opposed to us)
I think we should make a come back record. Chortle, chortle, chortle.

I remember it too - took a minute for it to come back to me but that was a senior moment ha ha!! I loved it when we sang 'There is a Redeemer' with the harmonies, I think that was one of my favourites.

Here comes another senior moment - I don't even remember you singing with the group Lisa! I'm really going to have to do something about this......

Etta do you know the song about the coffee pot that rhoda was talking about?

I agree with you Charlene - Candy does look like Pamela Ewing from Dallas!! haha When she was singing I kept looking at her and thinking that she reminded me of someone, but couldnt think who.hahaha (Also thought her hair was rather dated.)

Lisa I loved There is a Redeemer. We sing it in church over here from time to time and I love it.

Etta everytime I hear this song I sing the wee echo line too...haha

Wow! I was surprised to see that you have Candy Christmas on your blog as I actually saw her perform live. Our church has a Ladies Night and she was the guest speaker in December 2007.

Candy is an amazing woman (you should hear her biography). She started a program for the homeless/poor (in the deep South) where she shares the gospel and makes sure the people are fed and clothed.

I don't think I have heard this song before...but it is catchy!
